A) Internal Quality Assurance has a function to look at whole procedures before, during and after of learners so that a level of quality can be delivered. It monitors them from initial registration to certification and evaluation. The organisations I delivered for are Streetgames and The FA. Within this the concepts for IQA look at the accountability of the centre and its delivery staff alongside the awarding body who issue the qualification – 1st4Sport. Within in this other conceptual layers such fall within it to again see if procedures are correct and fair. We look at sampling of learners work through various methods of assessment. This normally takes places with our centre using desk based observation and interviews as its main strategies during and post award delivery. Evaluation is taken as both narratives from learners and through video feedback with peers on the course. Informal interviews are also done with candidates from day visits to courses by the IV. The assessors and staff utilise assessment through holistic approaches such as feedback wall, data upload to the centre and we have a standardisation meetings quarterly with the IV and once per year with the EV. This all collated by our centre manager Andrea. Other areas concepts such as Risk, equitable and being fair and transparent come through with our policies and procedures to link to the awarding body standards for the qualifications delivered. It also has a process for appeal and fairness that learners can refer to during the delivery if unhappy with a decision or outcome. The functions that IQA shows are that the qualifications that we offer have credibility and have benchmarked standards in order to gain them these will link industry standards and those of the required learning.
