Communication is a big deal so they are taught these ability when they first start basic training. Effective communication is important in the workplace it helps them engage with their co-workers, so communication is top priority when it comes to public services. Non-verbal communication: Non-verbal communication includes body language, hand gestures it is important especially communicating with someone who’s English is poor or a deaf person. Your body language shows more than what you’re trying to say. Verbal communication: Verbal communication is the most effective communication it can be spoken over the phone and also face to face.
You need to be able to share thoughts and ideas to help each other to increase the potential of your workplace. A good way to communicate with colleagues is to arrange daily meeting with your team so each colleague can communicate their thoughts. Giving each colleague this communication will help with build a stronger relationship. * Head teacher – Communicating with the head teacher is a very important task. The head teacher must be fully aware of all schools procedures, identities and assessing and making provisions for each pupil.

Time keeping Time keeping is a basic skill that should be maintained, particularly if you are a public service employee because someone’s life or even your own could depend on you being at the right place at the right time.
The role of the team leader is to motivate people to effective and hard work to the highest standards by promoting positive teamwork and by acknowledging their efforts. A Team leader should be able to recognise and understand that the team is build by people of different values and personalities; help people achieve work related and personal goals and bring out what's the best in them. Very often A team leader acts as a link between line staff and senior management of the organisation. In my workplace both team leaders are the link between the team and senior administration manager and director manager of Women’s' Services. We are informed about all changes that affects our directorate on a timely manner, we are up to date with any innovation and changes brought to the Trust.
P1 – Explain the need for and the role of discipline in the uniformed services Discipline can be defined as the practice of training people to obey rules or a code of behaviour, using punishment to correct disobedience. Rules and regulations are important within the Public Services. It ensures that those serving are familiar with their duties, and that they are knowledgeable about how and why discipline will be administered. It is important that discipline is administered because it makes them aware about what is expected of them and it gives punishment as a deterrent if that is not delivered. It gives them the opportunity to learn and progress, creates team cohesion and puts the individual in the right state of mind.
Personal Grooming and Presentation In the uniformed public services, where members of the public may be looking for you to help or guidance, it is particularly important that you are of smart appearance. People for impressions and opinions about us from the way we appear to them, so if you want to create the right impression it is important that you are correctly presented. Punctuality In order to run efficiently and effectively, organisations have to keep to tight schedules and this means being governed by time. In the public services punctuality is vital so that, at any time, someone can say where, when and how many people are on duty. At the beginning of a shift, public service personnel are briefed about any major issues that may have arisen; for example, police officers would be kept updated about a missing child.
It is very important to ensure that all staff members have the necessary skills and have undertaken suitable developmental activities to complete the work they are given. As a manager it is important to look over and carefully calculate the time and cost on a regular basis to make sure it’s cost effective so the organization isn’t losing money. Having regular consultations (meetings, brainstorming sessions, project groups etc.) are also highly expected from a manager as it provides prompt and constructive feedback to the employee. Which will help to suggest improvements that will increase resource efficiency and effectiveness; as employees use resources everyday to get there job done and will know what works and what doesn’t.
Communication is the foundation of care work. Working as live in PA I must create a good relationship with a client for the nature of such an intensive and special relationship. A good communication is an essential criteria to build up trust and meet clients needs. Working with different clients I need to have flexible approach and use different communication methods to overcome some of the barriers. To do this, even before I meet the client for the first time I receive a client's brief profile from the agency.
My body language is very important. I use open gestures, friendly face and one to one eye contact. When I am speaking with people who I am the manager of I need to know they understand my instructions, and understand that as their superior they have to do the duties that I request of them, this also has to be communicated with a mutual air of respect to ensure people are happy to carry out the tasks I have requested of them. Another important aspect of performance management is to periodically rate the performance of each and every employee or team member. A good way to keep employees motivated and performing well is to reward the good performance of each employee who does well. Planning work for any organization is very important. It is very important for the work to be planned out in advance to ensure success.
