Development can be Influenced by many different factors ,including health, disability environment and family background. Health Chronic conditions such as asthma can cause children to have time off school, infections like meningitis causes development delay.
There are many factors that influence a child/young person development. Development may affect before birth or after birth. Antenatal – Is known as the period from conception to birth. During this period mainly the life style of the mother affects the development of the child. If the mother smokes, takes drugs, becomes ill or suffers from stress this can result in premature birth and health problems for the baby such as -: low birth weight, undeveloped organs, problems with sight and hearing which will result in the delay their development.

There are a variety of different ways you can recognise and build on the strengths of a child, some of these strategies include: circle time, helping the child adapt to the environment, helping a child develop self-esteem, partaking in sport activities, reading and listening and many more. In order to help build on a Childs strengths you will need to identify what their strengths are. Strengths can include having a positive attitude towards certain activities, seeing an interest from the child/young person in a specific activity and excelling in academic studiers. Communication is extremely important as you need it to understand the Childs feelings and to assess their behaviour towards their strengths and also their weakness.
A child’s social network and emotional development can influence development, along with the use of drugs and alcohol both (child and parent). A child may not understand what is required due to unidentified possible language delay. Seeing things from the child’s point of view will help towards a positive relationship in a way that they will feel respected and understood. Therefore allowing the child to feel open to talk to me telling me how they feel or what they don’t like which helps when getting them to take part in different activities, controlling any behavior problems and to create a nice atmosphere to work in and for the children to learn and strive. To build and maintain positive relationships I use different body language and expressions to suit each child in order for them to understand what I am asking of them and likewise what they expect of me, I pay close attention to how they are reacting to any situation so as I can understand the different characters of each child. To help improve their confidence and communication skills it is important that I give the children enough time to try and explain themselves, what they are asking for or when taking part in a task not to rush them or jump ahead and do it for them, taking in to account their age and ability level. Getting down to the same level as the children whether it be sitting on the floor or around the classroom table is also another way I feel works well to build a positive relationship as they feel we are both equal and shows respect towards the children rather than

If you wish to have positive relationships you must remember you are a role model when working with children, young people and adults. A role model must be mindful, demonstrating daily your own effective communication skills with others. When communicating with others you must be considerate of how and when you approach them, you do not know what may be happening in their personal life. Positive relationships enable information to be communicated far more effectively.
Above, I stated why the topics should be addressed and how important it is for children to have organizations to help better themselves, by being healthy, social, a developing the skills that they should by having open play and encounter with parents, friends, teachers and families. Next, information was given on how important nurture can be for children. Children receive nurturing through social-emotional development and cognitive growth development. Then we went on to discuss the long-term goals, which I believe that they will excel to the highest extreme. Last, we discussed the effectiveness and showed evidence of how it will be effective.
