TIMING OF THE JOB OFFER- HR case study American Airlines, Inc. is a major United States airline. It operates an extensive international and U.S. domestic network, with scheduled flights throughout North America, the Caribbean, South America, Europe, and Asia. A series of job-related tools to select good employees is emphasized as application forms, various types of tests, interviews, background investigations and physical exams are very important. The selection process is composed of a number of steps, each of which is intended to provide additional information for decision making. The following are the eight steps in order for selection: 1. Initial screening interview 2. Completion of the application form 3. Employment tests 4. Comprehensive interview 5. Background investigation 6. Conditional job offer 7. Medical/physical exam 8. Permanent job offer. 1- Intial screening interview Job description information is shared along with a salary range. In this step the candidates will decid if the position is suitable or not. Also I will see which applicant will meet the general job requirements. 2- Completion of the application form If the candidates pass , I will give a job- performance- related synopsis of what he/she has been doing, their skills and accomplishments 3- Employment tests Then will give he/ she a performance simulation test to assess managerial potentional or other complex skills. 4- Comprehensive interview This interview to assess motivation, value, alttitude , ability to fit in and he/she ability to work under oressure. 5- Background investigation Revise the information from the application form such as references, legal status, education,.. 6- Conditional job offer HR manager will make an offer ontingent on successful completion on background check. 7- The Case in view Consider the events
