Unit 1: The Business environment P3 and P4 Introduction; Aims and objectives of a business are what the company hope to achieve. Aims are the long term plan and the 'bigger picture' for the company and objectives are the smaller goals in which they need to achieve to reach that desired future. The aims and objectives of any organisation depend on what type of business they are. For example the aims of a smaller non-profit organisation such as a charity will be very different to those of a large global company in the private sector. The reason that a company has aims and objectives is so that they have goals to achieve because it is important that all businesses have a plan to follow.
Even though he tries to communicate the issues with each employee, when they try and explain why, he does not take interest in what they have to say. It shows through his actions that he feels that he doesn’t need to deal with his employees personal problems. It is apparent that Alan O’Connor does not enjoy doing the performance reviews. Continuing this shows the high level executives that the General Manager is doing well and optimizing his ability to lead. It is also important for an organization to work as a team. The general manager must know how to execute and communicate the same common goal to different groups. This is very difficult because in order for the team to feel as equally passionate about the common goal, the manager must communicate the goal in a way that makes each employee feel they are doing their part individually to achieve the common goal.
Brainstorming and group problem solving will help a business succeed. Teamwork also brings into play diversity, working in teams is being able to communicate and work with others of different backgrounds. Another business trend that is big in the workplace is ethical concerns. Treating employees fairly, showing concern of the environment, treating the community with respect and telling the truth are all ethical concerns that play a big part in business trends and are probably one of the most important

Carl demonstrated meager planning, implementation, and unwieldiness to follow-through with his assigned duties. It appears that Carl Robins is not qualified or trained properly to do his job successfully. This issue may have been averted by establishing a systematic leadership and mentoring plan by ABC, Inc. to train and advise their new employees. Several issues stand out immediately.
