You really cannot imagine children who range the age of seven thru eight to grasp the information as teenagers can do. Another example could be to use your inside voice or may be quiet time when a teacher is doing a tutorial is being explained. The student must value other people who are trying to listen or even learn the materials that are being taught in the classroom. All age groups should learn to value others and the importance of being sociable. The vital abilities that each child must pick up are to understand necessary instructions.
It is important that children are made aware of what is expected of them within school with regards to their behaviour and interacting with others. Adults must also be conscious of their reactions to certain situations in front of children as they are seen as role models, for example using bad language or aggressive behaviour will stick in a child’s mind and they may replicate the behaviour. As a Teaching Assistant, having a close relationship with any pupil in my setting means I can learn to recognise their needs. I work in the nursery every morning and a lot of the children are only 2
Observation Assignment #1 Observe the Students in the Class Type of Setting & Grade Level: The grade level I observed for this assignment was head start at Jones Elementary. The head start program is similar to that of a preschool, children are ages three through five and classes have students with and without special needs. My observation settings were both in the classroom and outside on the playground. While inside the classroom, the majority of my time with the students was spent during their morning circle time and their play time which they are divided into groups for. While observing outside, I interacted with the students while they played amongst one another.
It is an offence to keep children off school without a good reason and may result in the parents being prosecuted. Dealing with conflict and inappropriate behaviour The conflict and inappropriate behaviour policy is set in place because in order for your child to flourish the most is when they know how to behave properly and as expected. Children gain this by following the example set by adults both in the setting and at home. Making sure restrictions are
Third, is to have them practice wearing their underwear, which will also be fun for the child to help pick out. It is very important to let the child feel like they are apart of the decision-making so that way they get excited to begin potty training. Finally, it’s time to start practicing. By now, the child feels comfortable with all of their new gear, and feeling proud that they got to pick it out themselves, which will further help the child excel in using the toilet independently. Using these steps will produce a desirable outcome for everyone involved, as long as everyone continues to be dedicated and excited throughout the entire process.
Unit 9- Final Project Over the pass nine weeks I learned so many interesting things. And researched a lot of detailed information required in this class. Back in Unit 1 I learned Role of psychology in our daily lives. In the learning activity I got to explain how understanding and predicting behaviors benefit us in our lives at home, at work and in school? Here is what I say: Understanding and predicting behaviors can benefit us in our lives at home, at work and in school because if you are asked how behavior at home can effect a student in there school work it because a lot of times there not thinking about what there doing and that could mess with there head cause they have other thing on there mind.
• Each child is an individual, so you will need to be flexible in your approach. • Only start to train the child when they are ready. • Always try to be positive and supportive of the child’s efforts and this will also promote self-esteem. • When children are learning to toilet train they need to familiarise themselves with the signals of needing to go. They therefore cannot ‘hold on’ so need quick access to the toilet.
Make sure the areas have enough room for the children to be engage in the areas activities. Children not aware of the dangers in classroom and outdoor area, by going over the safety precautions in a manner it won’t be over bearing or intimating to children. Having them be involved in making the rules of safety in classroom/outdoor area of what are do and don’t. Make sure first aid kit is available and ready just in case if a student have an accident in classroom. It’s a big plus for me to learn more about what I can do for the safety of my children.
When children are not around other kids they don't know how to react to them. Children need to get out and experience the presence of other children. This way they will know how to interact with them. Children who are home schooled have a hard time understanding what, who, how and when to communicate. They do well communicating with their parents because they are home all day with them.
Assisting in implementing a constant daily routine for children is important. The routine does provide structure and guidance for the children during the day. I put a chart in my classroom where I wrote the daily routine accompanied with pictures for children to understand what will come
