I’m not really the kind of person who beliefs in myths but when I was young the myths I really liked and believed in was the little old lady who lived in a shoe with lots of children and could only feed them bread. Or even Goldie locks and the three bears or little red riding hood. But now the ones that stick in my head are Maui and the sun, midis and his golden touch, but the one I hate is the lama and the great flood because it is very much like Noah’s ark. I’m Christian so I don’t believe in myths because they mostly involve other gods but I do believe in the bible, its like my life but other people don’t and the think its fake but different people believe in different things. Myths and legends have lots of features such as supernatural powers, an example is Maui and the sun or Maui fishing up the north island. They sometimes even have supernatural events, I don’t have any example. About 95% of myths have moral like the story of the milkmaid who was planning what she was going to do with all the money she got from selling the milk she sold then she slipped over and broke all of the milk she was going to sell, so the moral is don’t count your chickens before the hatch. Myths also have things such as monsters, horror, religion, superstition and believes. Myths and legends also have functions. The biggest would be entertainment, its like movies or books, they keep you entertained but they are telling you something (like a moral) that half the time we wont pick up on it. There are also functions like controlling people by making them to believe in things. There is also an explaning things like creation and teaching you things. Studying and learning about myth and legends has taught me lots and the features and function is my favorite part because it showed me every thing I know but I still don’t believe in
