The Rise of the Aztec Empire and the Mongol Empire The rise of the Aztec Empire and the Mongol Empire are similar politically when considering the military aspects, also they are similar socially when considering the treatment of their women. However they are different culturally when considering the religious aspects of the empires. Politically, both the Aztecs and the Mongols were similar, specifically through their military power. The Aztec Empire had a very large and strong military. The Mongol Empire was a military empire. Their leader was Genghis Khan. Using the weapons that they got from China, the Mongols conquered established states: Persia, China, and Russia. The Mongols were violent in their conquering. It was described as horrific by Russian crusaders. The Aztec and the Mongol Empires had great militaries, making them very strong empires. Because the Mongols had a strong military, they were ble to conquer most of Eurasia. Socially, the Aztecs and the Mongols were similar, specifically with the way they treated their women. In the Mongol empire, women had more rights compared to China’s women. The Aztec women too had more rights. Women were able to be priestesses in temples, teachers, and traders in the Aztec Empire. Because the Mongol and Aztec men were strong military wise, their women had more freedom than most. Culturally, the Aztecs and the Mongols were different, specifically with their religions. The Aztec Empire praised their Sun God, Huitzilopochtli. They also believed that their blood gave the sun the energy it didn’t have to keep it sustained. Enduring this, they had human sacrifices during rituals to their Sun God. Although the Mongols had religious tolerance, most of them went from Shamatism to being Islamic.
