Robin Jenkins first shows you how different the little girl is, “red eyed dissenter”. This shows that the little girl could be angry or has maybe been crying. I think Jenkins has used ‘dissenter’ to identify Margaret as different from everyone else suggesting her loneliness and isolation from the others. Loneliness is a theme throughout ‘Flowers’ which shows that life can be very unpleasant especially if you are alone. The theme of loneliness continues when, after Miss Laing tells the children to go pick flowers they all “scamper off” but the little girl doesn’t.
There is a mid shot of the backs of Shrek and Donkey walking towards a man in a Prince Farquaad costume, but when they see Shrek he runs away screaming. They have to go through some barriers and Shrek has to go in side ways, as he is so large, Donkey has to struggle to get through the turning barriers and Shrek sighs. The audience hear the sound of the barriers and the background music. They notice that there is nobody around and Shrek comments ‘it’s quiet too quiet.’ There is a mid shot of a closed information desk and Donkey opens it and there are a lot of wooden children singing the rules of Duloc. They change the words where they would normally swear.
He almost made it, little bastard little bugger” (Pg 10) though later in the book we see Ender using this as a way to enhance his heroism as he wants to prove his brother wrong. Elpahaba is seen as an outcast as she is born with emerald coloured skin, her heroism was limited since she was young as she was looked down on for being different. In the musical at University she becomes frustrated when Madme Morrible decides to separate her and her sister, she begins to yell, “let her go” and she uses her powers to create mayhem. The lights begin to become dim and turn green and the music is low and gloomy. We learn though that she is gifted and has a bright future.
A little while back, George and I were up in Weed, not doing anything in particular, when the big fella saw a pretty red dress on a girl that was passing by, so naturally, he went over to feel it. At first, the girl just seemed a little puzzled, but her confusion quickly turned into panic when she realised that Lennie didn`t want to let go of her dress. We ended up hiding in a ditch because the poor girl thought Lennie was going to hurt her and started screaming. That’s how we ended up here on Curl’ys ranch in the first place. Another thing that I am going to miss about Lennie is how trusting he was, and not just in me but in everyone who ever told him anything.
There are dozens of shops that sell K2 and they don't care where the shops are and the causes it has on the surroundings. One example of this is a shop in Manurewa that is named "high zone " which is poorly located right behind a well-used bus stop that is used to go to Southmall, a popular mall in Manurewa. My grandmother had to use this bus stop once and said that she kept coughing and it felt like she was choking on all the fumes the store was producing. K2 can also lead to problems such as lung cancer and heart disease. K2 is one of the two most
Rayona hates it more than anything that when she goes anywhere, people poke fun at her and make racial remarks to her which makes her feel insecure about herself. When Ray meets Foxy for the first time, Father Tom introduces her and Foxy says, “Your Christine’s kid…The one whose father is a nigger” (Dorris 44). Not only does Rayona have to deal with racism her mother is always putting her in bad situations. There has been quite a few times where Christine has attempted to leave Ray and told her that she wanted to commit suicide. One time in the very beginning of the story Elgin goes to visit Christine in the hospital, Rayona had not seen him in 5 months and Christine did not want to tell him about her sickness.
Druggies are stereotype by their actions because they don’t obey authority, get in trouble, and don’t focus in school. The movie Pineapple Express shows this stereotype because their stupid and don’t obey the law. Druggies are stereotyped by their appearance because they smell, and don’t care how they look. In the movie Pineapple Express shows this because the main characters smell and dress how they want and don’t care. Another stereotype of druggies is their dialogue because they don’t speak proper English, laugh at everything and cuss all the time.
They had previously been working in a town called Weed but had to leave because Lennie tried to pet a girls dress, just like he used to pet mice. The girl had gotten scared and tried to run away but then Lennie had gotten afraid himself. And when Lennie gets afraid he starts holding things harder then he already is. The girl had gotten away but Lennie had ripped her dress and she, of course, screamed rape. George often mentions that life without Lennie would be much better.
“Suddenly you find yourself tongue twisted and your speech stammering as you seek to explain to your six year old daughter why she can’t go to the public amusement park that has just been advertised on television, and see tears welling up in her eyes when she is told that Funtown is close to colored children.”The only real emotion the clergymen felt is guilt. They were appalled with what they saw; they are ruining the lives of innocent people just because of their skin color. King puts the image of a little girl in the head of the reader, and the reader feels heartbroken. There is nothing worse than telling your kid they can’t do something because of what color their skin is. Is that fair?
The Black Plague can be credited for the invention of this popular nursery rhyme: Ring a-round the rosy pocket full of posies ashes, ashes, we all fall down! The death of family members left the children facing pain at an early age. Parents even went as far as to abandoning their children, leaving them on the streets to fend for themselves. They didn’t want to risk their babies giving them the deadly disease. Children were especially unlucky if they were girls.
