The purpose of this paper is to present some of the advantages of using computers in the process of teaching and learning on a regular basis.. Let me tell you why I think we need computers in the classrooms. Well, first we need them to improve students’ achievement and to increase students’ motivation. We also need them to make the lessons more interesting. Everybody understands a lesson better if it is interesting. But I do think that the most important benefit of using computers in schools is that the students are more prepared for the outside world.
Technology can be used to improve teaching and learning and help our students be successful through the better simulations and models. Teachers can explain the concepts that are too big or too small or process that happen too quickly or too slowly in the classroom. Students can also experiment with virtual situations in order to understand the evolution. For example, teachers can use the digital simulations and models to teach the movement of the particles that we cannot see in naked eye so that the students can understand easily. Besides that, technology can be used to improve teaching and learning and help our students be successful through the epistemic games.
Over the past decades, technology has become more advanced and has provided new ways to learn in the education system. There are multiple sides that either agree or disagree if incorporating technology in the classroom is beneficial or distracting. Some people might argue that kids are becoming tethered to screens at school and are easily distracted. Instead of paying attention to the teacher’s lesson, kids are figuring out how easy it is to access games on technological devices. Another side argues that the use of computers and other technologies in the classroom can create an increase in the information students can learn because the student is more likely to be engaged.
I play an integral role in preparing them for their futures so I need to support them, and create a rich and encouraging environment that empowers every child to succeed. In order to keep students engaged I will need to be organised in my planning and implementation of every lesson. I will also need to develop my teaching appropriately, it needs to be relevant to the students prior learning, interests and learning needs. Standard one requires me to be flexible, creative and to take a learner-centered approach to teaching that is imbedded with the use of ICTs. Generation Y have been born into a technological era, which makes them natural visual and kinesthetic learners.
Throughout my Technology in Education course I acquired a vast amount of knowledge relating to the way in which we as human-beings have become so dependent upon computer systems, peripherals, and software. Technology is not everyone’s forte; however, it is worthwhile to understand it and how it can be applied in a learning environment (Poole, Sky-McIlvain, Evans, & Singer, 2009). Learning something new may seem overwhelming. Nevertheless, with continued exposure and practice the information is easily applied hands-on. With time, the acquired knowledge and skill becomes second-nature to the facilitator.
Many believe that this audio visual aid will really help teaching in a higher level. Let’s take a look the effectiveness of this audio visual aid in teaching and how can it help the teacher and the student. Significance of the study The audio visual aid is being used by many of teachers or facilitator of learning these days. Many believe that this is very effective in coping the attention of the learner and in presenting the lesson in more creative and better way. By the use of this research we will try to find out on the effectiveness of the audio visual aid than the traditional which is the used of teacher made charts in representing the ideas.
To Improve My Teaching Skills Education Essay I would like to teach in a way that will inspire my students. Teachers can inspire students while still teaching to the assessment. Creativity came to great interest, as I wanted to know how teachers come up with creative ideas, how did they implement this into their planning and what activities and techniques do their use with students. To keep students motivated I wanted to know various activities as changes in activity “restore attention and concentration “Biggs 2007:102 How could I adapt creative techniques in the classroom? Situate new learning within a relevant context that motivates and helps students make connections To promote active learning and engage learners Display enthusiasm for student ideas Consider a range of resource ideas From the creative workshop there were various methods to embrace such as the use of video in the classroom can offer visual stimulus.
Technology can play vital role in improving education systems. You can see electronic gadgets and computers being used in schools, colleges and universities. Audio visual tools are developed to teach complex topics to students in fun way. This advancement had brought many noticeable changes in methods and approach of learning and education. This progress is making people of the developing countries to meet the challenges of world Technology helps you in making things easier; everything is under your finger tips.
