(TDA 2.3 4.2) Describe the importance of reassuring children, young people and adults of the confidentiality of shared information and the limits of this. It is important to reassure children, young people and adults that any information about them is kept confidential. It is their right to privacy to have this information kept confidential and not passed on for others to talk about or gossip. As a member of teaching staff it is important not to violate their trust or put them at risk of harm by divulging personal information. But that it will only used where and when necessary.
The teachers also should have stepped in when they saw the fight happening and not just stood there. It teaches us students that we should stand up for kids, and teachers are not always the good person in the situation and there could be favoring. In conclusion, I think that The Chocolate War was a very good book that taught very interesting lessons. It always makes me think twice but saying, “no” to something that I should do. I think the lesson here is to just plain out respect everyone and you will not have any problems.
When people think of school, a safe environment for students to learn comes to mind. Students learn knowledge happily and safety. However, when people think about gun, they always think about violence, danger and unsafe environment. Therefore, an environment for safe learning should not have guns. The school hires school security to protect the campus and they should be enough protection.
Random locker checks are not done to torment and/or invade the privacy of the students, but for many other important reasons which include school security. These checks are required because malicious students bring drugs and weapons to school and store them in the lockers. Random locker checks should be made obligatory and done frequently to assure the wellbeing of the students. In the first place, locker checks help increase the safety in schools. Safety is a problem in every environment and especially school.
However, some parents might feel that the questions being asked are too personal and might feel like they are being judged by the school, but although questionnaires may ask personal or sensitive questions; parents are generally under no obligation to answer them. The principal is responsible to make the school mission effective, safe, under control, and give each individual their rights that the constitution provides them. Principals may also restrict speeches and events that students view, to prevent them from behaving bad or using illegal drugs or other substances.
The problem in the school structure that Graff recognizes is lack of persuasion to get students to argue. This holds true in my personal experiences in academics. Despite the fact the educating administration is trying to avoid violent disputes because of arguments, they fail to see that properly structured arguments are the best way to avoid violence. Without the school system instilling the ideas and values of argument, students will lack an outlet for an argument consisting of words and are more likely to resort to violence for resolution. In a section of Gerald’s essay he advocates that educated conversation be shared with uneducated audiences as a basis for understanding any scholarly topic as well as a basis for a strong argument.

Bullying of any sort stops members of the school from being able to achieve their full potential and prevents equality of opportunity. Bullying is anti-social behaviour and affects everyone: it is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. The Department of Education is clear that no form of bullying should be tolerated. Teaching and protecting special needs children is her livelihood and considers these children as her own. Teacher Hansens perspective is taken for granted, and we want all our teachers to protect our children but the big picture is we can harm our youth as well. It is of utmost importance that the administrators of these schools be informed of which teachers or other staff members are carrying a firearm on the grounds. Policies procedures and proper training need to be in place at these states that allow teachers to carry firearms. Communication is so crucial to prevent any future tragedies on school
It is also argued by supported that other crimes could be deterred and students and faculty alike would be able to protect themselves from these dangers and feel safe. The opposition believes that the legal carrying of a concealed weapon on a college campus can potentially create a very dangerous situation. Those who adhere to this belief are concerned that the presence of weapons on campus will detract from the learning environment of college campuses by adding an additional safety concern. There is also concern regarding the lack of training of the persons carrying the weapon. For example, those who have a permit to carry concealed weapons
