I always tell my kids that a college education is a key to success in life. I set myself as an example, after being out of school for so many years and then going back to college, takes a lot of motivation, dedication, and commitment. I want to better myself, my family, and to be able to say I accomplished my goal. Goals and accomplishments are two big priorities, which I value them exceedingly having the desire to reach them in life. In order to accomplish goals, a plan must be laid out.
Success will be achieved by identifying the challenges and developing strategies to overcome the challenges. “Adult graduate students often must negotiate with families, employers, coworkers, and friends to establish priorities, time commitments, and responsibilities” (Polson, 2003, p. 63). By finding balance between my personal life, work, and graduate studies, I will obtain self-fulfillment and advance my career and salary while being a positive role model for my children. Graduate Study Challenges and Strategies for Personal Success Pursuing graduate studies can be an intimidating task because the assignments, research, and projects can be overwhelming. Students must find balance between their personal lives, work, and studies.
I made the decision to pursue the field of nursing because it embraces so many aspects of a career that I have been looking to be a part of. I wanted a career where I have a chance to make a positive impact on individuals’ lives, where my natural disposition to help others and care for them will be of great benefit and where I have the opportunity to grow and advance within the profession. Being a nurse encompasses

This competency would assist the new NP in continued improvement in their practice. If the new NP is open about their new role and acknowledges that time will be necessary to move to the expert phase then that is an example of taking leadership and initiative in this crucial area. Susan O. Valentine states in her work titled Nursing Leadership and the New Nurse: “Leadership does not rest merely with administrators and high-level managers, but also can be developed and implemented at the bedside. Nursing has a responsibility to encourage and support new members of the profession, as they become competent clinicians.” This applies to all types of nurses when they assume new roles in the profession. We all have to start somewhere and it helps our confidence and practice if we are nurtured in our translation of new knowledge into practice.
There needs to be focus on achieving a baccalaureate degree and further, just to maintain the ability to educate and continue to produce nurses. This too will also influence lifelong learning which the nursing profession prides itself on. (Lane & Kohlenberg,
I have several strengths that will help my ability to connect with patients on a more personal level and not just business. I am a very compassionate, dedicated, loyal and ambitious individual and I truly believe that having attributes as such, will make my career choice more rewarding and positive for both me and my patients. I believe that becoming a nurse is more than just some job or career, it is a treasured continuous learning process that is in search of life changing events and miracles. The only way one would be capable of achieving a goal as rewarding and beneficiary as this, would be by pursuing a college

My personal goals are extremely important to me in providing for my family and making my life complete. I will be well rounded and fully educated. Recently, I decided to go back to school and work toward my ultimate goal of becoming a nurse practitioner in women’s health. I have made myself a student at University of Phoenix to get started. Completing my bachelors of nursing is my short-term goal that I will accomplish through the University of Phoenix.
I want to succeed in becoming a registered nurse, because this has been a life long dream. I want to be able to encourage someone else that it is never to late to pursue their dreams. Another reason for me to become an RN is to hopefully one day be able to medically assist in saving someone's life, administer first aid, or to just help someone feel better. Also, for financial stability and it will be rewarding to be able to say, “ I did it”.Another goal to success for me is raise my children to be Pyles 2 confident, healthy, happy and
