DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY REGIMENT FORT BLISS, TX 79916 PROCEDURES FOR THE WEEKLY MAINTANANCE OF 3RD PLATOON’S M4 CARBINE’S AFVA-BCX 14 JULY 2014 SOP Number 1 1. REFERENCES: a. Lubricate order (LO) b. STP 21-1-SMCT c. TM 9-1005-319-10 d. DA FORM 2404, Equipment Inspection and Maintenance Worksheet 2. PURPOSE: To establish uniformity of the cleanliness, mainanenance, and inspection for all 3rd Platoon’s M4 carbines 3. APPLICABILITY: This applies to all personnel assigned to 3rd Platoon, Bravo Company. 3. RESPONSIBILITIES: a. All Soldiers will clean and perform preventive maintanence of their individually assigned (1) The arms room is open from 0900 hrs to 1630 hrs. Ensure weapons are drawn out and turned in within this time frame. b. Soldiers will need the following to properly clean and conduct preventive maintenance on their M4 carbines. (1) TM 9-1005-319-10. (2) 3 copies of DA FORM 2404. (3) Weapons cleaning kit c. Soldiers will clean and lubricate their M4 Carbine IAW TM 9-1005-319-10 prior to conducting preventive maintenance. d. Once the Soldier has completed the cleaning of their M4 carbine they will. (1) Reassemle their M4 carbine. (2) Conduct a functions check of their M4 carbine IAW TM 9-1005-319-10 (3) Present their weapon to their team leader or squad leader for inspection. e. Once the Soldier’s M4 carbine has been inspected the Soldier will conduct preventive maintenance of their M4 carbine using TM 9-1005-319-10. f. Soldiers will annotate any faults with their weapons on all three copies of DA
