The family in turn will rely on the educated child to grow up and have a good job, so that when they have their own children they are able to pay taxes towards their children’s education and so on. Unfortunately in poverty or poor areas it can be difficult for society to change the cycle. This can delay or even prevent improvement. For example, if parents aren’t working and therefore not paying their taxes, this could lead to crime which could mean that the local government cannot maintain high educational standards. Teenagers leaving school cannot find good jobs and can result in them turning to vandalism; drugs and many may not find or even look for a job.
Good paying salary is something that was important me. Being a role model to my kids was another really big factor with returning to school. I really struggled with wanting to go back to school. When I really took time and looked at the way the job market is and the way that they economy was falling. I knew that the only way to be successful

Should Students Be Paid to Gain an Education? Kids should not expect to earn money to receive an education they are fortunate to have. In the New York Times article “Rewards for Students Under a Microscope” Lisa Guernsey explains that “Research suggests that rewards may work in the short term, but have damaging effects in the long term.” Children are clearly motivated for short periods of time which does not address long term educational needs and goals. In my opinion as a student I do not think we should be paid to go to school, because for hundreds of years kids have had the honor and expectation to learn. As technology advances, it seems students are becoming lazy, and losing interest in the opportunity for an education.
Without grades, how else would we assess and measure a student’s abilities in a practical way that can be used for this? Without grades every applicant would have to get brought in to an interview or something similar. This would take a lot of time and become extremely tedious. Grades are not only beneficial to students after graduation, but they benefit students and teachers during school as well. Grades are clear and distinct indications of how a student is performing in school.
Or at least they should be, because students go to high school in order to get an education and learn and improve their academic knowledge. While community service is a good experience and volunteers often take away some knowledge from it, it usually doesn’t pertain to the academic curriculum that students learn in school. Community service is also something that is often done off school grounds, and/or after school hours. In order to graduate high school, a student shouldn’t have to complete volunteering activities outside of high school. For example, a very common act of community service is cleaning up trash in local parks.
An educational facility that is given adequate resources has a much better chance of pushing the boundaries of education and developing new and effective methods of learning. Currently, many teachers are required to pull money out of their own pocket just to acquire the materials needed for their class to finish the curriculum. These teachers are being barred from a right to think freely about how their students think because of budgeting. The only way to improve education standards in the U.S. is to show the proper respect to it, both socially and out of our
I have bills that I need to pay or else I wouldn’t have a job. School is so important to me and that’s why this semester I am going to be trying my best to prove that! Not being able to attend classes affected my grades tremendously and that’s not going to happen! I have one amazing boss right now and all she wants is for me to go to school and get that out of the way, I’m happy that she is actually going around my work schedule it helps me out a
I got a job and made some decent money so I decided I didn’t care for school. Moving from job to job made me realize that I have to go back to school. I couldn’t go back in time but I can try it now at ITT Tech and now I am even more focused than ever. At least two goals I set in this class are just to show up and do the work. If I show up and do the work, there’s no reason why I can’t pass the class or even get an A for my grade.
Implementing School Uniforms Implementing school uniforms will increase academic performance and reduce behavioral problems. While this is a temporary solution to the permanent problem of getting students to strive for achievement, the implementation of school uniform policies, especially at this pivotal point in time in our countries future, is one way we could help young people to realize their potential thru improving the over all quality of education in our country. While students and parents face many daily struggles that distract them from more important things, financial issues can be sited as one of the biggest struggles facing families and individuals these days. School uniforms provide a low cost alternative to expensive designer clothing. Students whose parents can’t afford expensive clothing can be spared the harsh words and jeers from their peers, allowing them to blend in instead of being singled out as poverty stricken or less fortunate then others, thus giving all the students the outward appearance of equals.
