Security Management Level 3 Assignment 4 Question 1 (Weighting: 10) Briefly describe how a personnel policy can be developed within the security organisation? To develop a personnel policy for use within an organisation a framework should be developed, within the policies of the organisation, this should be built around the following: Personnel are developed, by the process of recruiting, selecting, placement orientation, training, rotation and promotion. The renumeration of personnel is developed, services are paid for i the form of wages, salaries, benefits, bonuses, shares and cash awards. Personnel are activated, using the following, motivation, incentives, leadership and punishment. Morale should be constantly monitored and nourished to ensure cohesion within the workforce. Pride in high standards of workmanship should be instilled in the workforce and high work achievement rewarded. Differences within the work place should be monitored and resolved before the develop into conflicts. Training should be developed to improve knowledge,, skills,promote work satisfaction and assist in promotions. Personnel should be tested at regular intervals to measure achievement and to improve standards. Attempts to increase productivity are constantly applied. Question 2 (Weighting: 5) Explain the steps that occur from recruitment to training. The following steps should be taken from recruitment to training: Recruitment is the first step, at this stage suitable candidates should be attracted to the work place. This should be done both internally and externally, using al available methods, form word of mouth, an advertisement campaign and the use of recruitment agencies.
