“Hey guys, oh my god, check out that new selfie I just posted on Facebook… I got thirty likes in under five minutes…” In today’s revolutionary world where technology advances rapidly, social media has infiltrated out lives so thoroughly and swiftly, we are passively becoming more dependent on online networking sites to build friendships and to connect with each other. The frequent use of social networking should be reduced because it is causing many of us to neglect real life communication and soon “forget” how to socialize face-to-face. The benefits and defects of online social networking is being debated regularly. For many people, using social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc., has become increasingly popular for staying in touch. Further more the process of becoming friends with someone seems to be as easy as collecting stickers on McDonald’s coffee cups. According to statistics on Daily Infographic, 39% of Americans spend more time socializing online instead of in real life and 33% prefer to meet new people online instead of in person. To be honest, the massive use and dependency of online networking sites are progressively changing how we communicate with one another on a fundamental level. Additionally, 24% of people surveyed said that they just can’t tear themselves away from social media. Therefore many of us have neglected the importance of real conversations with one another. I’m strongly suggesting that everyone reduce the use of social media because it cause us to become insociable and lose the ability to interact with one another face-to-face. we will soon lose the ability to socialize face-to-face is we rely on social networking to meet new people and maintain friendships. It is very important to engage the skills in socializing with people. Once these skills are obtained, they will be beneficial to us in many circumstances such as
