With my personally beliefs I don’t think that there are any positive aspects to stereotypes. Stereotypes cause voids between people. I view stereotypes as negative actions and thought that people show toward others. Since they are neagitive I feel that they would cause more harm and danger than anything else. I think the problems are that the norms of the 1950's were wrong and people got too involved in other people’s business. Being Americans we sometimes allow ourselves to get so isolated as to think that we only hold stereotypes of ourselves and of other nationalities as a whole. However, what we fail to acknowledge is that we are not the only country who maintain such stereotypes on this Earth. As a matter of fact, when comparing the stereotypical “American” to citizens of foreign nations one could make a strong argument that we as a society actually have the worst stereotypes. Mexico, is one of these countries that strongly holds a negative view of the stereotypical Amrican.
When these actions of racial profiling takes away from your state of being free, power to do as you please, and in some cases your freedom from physical restraint; are in violations of your liberty making it immoral. In retrospect, what makes racial profiling immoral is the state that it leaves the victim in which is commonly a vulnerable one. These labels that are constantly put on us drive me insane. There is so much hidden in our family that non-members do not see. In addition to all of these stereotypes that are put on me and the others in my group, I do not like to show people that it bothers me, but these stereotypes have really given me a negative outlook on these people. The stereotypes that have been put on me have made me put stereotypes back on these other people. I now look at the outsiders as "city slickers" or I call them lazy and tell them that they have no discipline.
