This is an opportunity for the organization to capitalize because a system for comprehensive treatment of pulmonary rehabilitation does not exist in this whole region. Administration should be aware that pulmonary rehabilitation develops patient relationships over extended years with high program loyalty and longevity. There are grants available for lung research. The American lung association offers annual funding opportunities as a part of its award and grant program. Our target population is the Kansas City metro area. One of the most important parts of the proposed program is the internal system of intra firm competition. Using known employees and motivational tools this program should provide a lot of opportunities for improvement. The costs of performance on this program are modest relative to the impact of the profit. We will utilize part-time employees at the beginning and graduate to full time on an as needed basis. Cost /Benefit estimates of the benefits returned for each dollar spent on the program is the key question from a policy perspective, but one that is not easily answered.
