Discrimination against Homosexuality I am against discrimination whether it is on race, sexual orientation, age, or ethnicity, but I feel most strongly about discrimination towards someone’s sexual orientation. People who are scrutinized because they may like the same gender can suffer from all sorts of physical, mental, and emotional abuse. In some cases of discrimination it can exceed from just saying rude comments to the form of actually acting out and physically harming the person. In some cases it may even lead to death. There are a lot of people in the church who say that being gay, bi, or lesbian is a sin because it’s in the bible. Those people are wrong no were in the bible does it say that being gay, bi, or lesbian is a sin. What the bible says is “Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable” (Leviticus 18:22). My understanding is being gay is not a sin but acting upon those feelings is a sin. As a Christian myself I feel this discrimination is brought on by the lack of their knowledge in the bible. People can see public affection at every store, restaurant, alley, and street, just everywhere. When straight men and women show public affection no one cares. But when homosexuals do it, someone has to make a hostile comment. Gays should be able to do everything a straight person gets to do without someone saying something rude. With more and more people in America accepting the ideas and lifestyles of gay individuals, there will always be the other side of the argument who are finding more and more reasons to dislike and reject the gay agenda.
