Also in most cases the students forget to turn off the volume to their cell phones which will then interrupt the class or test. The kids see it as fun chatting with their friends while they are in another class, but they don’t see all the important notes being missed. If the teacher is assigning homework or informing the class about an upcoming test the student will not hear, which will then lead to failure! Year after year more and more students get cell phones convincing their parents that it will come in handy in case of an emergency. But if anything urgent were to happen at school the student can go to the office and make a phone call there.
It would be unfair for teachers to use cell phones most of the time because not all students have that ability. There are ways to go around this issue. There are always going to be opposing sides to this argument. Personally I feel that there are solutions available for teachers who dislike cell phone use in class. For example for people who don't have cell phones can partner up with someone who does have one, or there can be school administered tablets each teacher has just in case.
Teachers do not get mad about cell phones in class because they are mean, or don’t want students to socialize, but they do it for students benefit. They are trying to prepare students for the future and the lives we will go on to live after high school. If we don’t learn what we are supposed to during our high school years we will not be prepared for the advanced knowledge college or university offers us. After high school no one is going to tell us we aren’t allowed to use phones in class, but it is out loss if we don’t learn what we are supposed to. Teachers are only trying to prepare us for the real world.
When eating dinner, doing homework, and even playing with their friends, a child will stop to answer a call or text message, young children don’t need any additional distractions in an already fast-paced, techno-crazed society. Proper use is a third factor for consideration in delaying the giving of a mobile phone. Your child needs to be old enough to understand when it is and isn’t okay to use their phone, and not to freely give their phone number out; the danger here should be obvious. Opponents of giving elementary age children a cell phone may argue that the phone helps them keep tabs on the kids. The use of electronic devises to track young children probably means the parent is allowing too much freedom or unsupervised activities at too young an age.
Journal. Even though schools allow cell phones on grounds they aren’t allowed in the classroom. Some schools are concerned that this will result in cheating and cyber-bulling. Some great advantages of cell phone usage in schools are for learning purposes. If schools don’t have enough calculators or computers, students can use their cell phones as a tool to go on an educational website.
They are anti-social electronics.Students will sit around on their phones and not cominicate with the people around them.If students are always on their phones, they would not be as good at communicating with others.Social skills are an important aspect of life.Being social at school is important for friendships and life skills in general. Cyber-bullying is another problem that could occur. If the amount of time students are allowed to be on their phone increases, then students would be more likely to bully other students.During the school day, a victim of bullying would be less likely to report a situation, putting teens lives in danger. It could could cause a adversity for a family.Cyber-bullying is dangerous , and extra time given to students to be on their phones could just increase the amount of bullying that goes on. I really do not assent cell phone use during lunch, studyhall, and before school is important.Cell phones could be used in non beneficial ways, cause social problems, and increase the
I conducted an interview with my fiancée, Melissa Insley, on this issue and she happens to feel the same as myself. Cell phones should be allowed in class but they should be on silent unless the person has children or another important reason where someone may need to get a hold of them (Insley). A lot of people, me included, have ADD or other learning disabilities that make it hard for them to pay attention in class and the littlest bit of distraction makes them lose focus completely, and it is very important that they get the most out of the education that they are paying for (Insley). Even on vibrate it can cause a disruption to some people and that’s simply not fair to those who are really intent on learning the information. If someone really needs to use their phone for whatever reason that they can go out in the hallway outside of the classroom even for texting.
Instead of having to use multiple different devices, you could your cell phone for all your schooling needs. Many teachers aren't aware of all the abilities they could be utilizing from cell phones and I believe it would make teaching a lot easier. Many jobs today have something to do with technology. With every new invention of technology a new job is created and a new subject is in need of being learned. If you deny students the use of cellphones you could possibly be keeping them from learning a dire skill for their future jobs.
I believe they should not just be permitted to use cell phones, they should be required to use them. Cell phones don’t just allow students to stay connected with family and friends, they are also an excellent learning resource, and they encourage the responsible use of technology. To begin with, cell phones make it possible for students to stay in touch with family and friends.A student can call home and ask a family member to bring them a forgotten assignment or lunch money or to come pick them up if they are sick. Also, cell phones allow parents to keep track of their children’s whereabouts before, during, and after school. And, of course, there’s always the possibility of a student needing to contact a parent because of a dangerous situation.
And strict regulations need to be put on teachers, as well, so the devices are not misused. I also don't think teachers should have access to their cell phones at all, during the day. • I do not believe that schools should allow mobile devices to be used as educational devices, since they can also be used as a distraction. I believe that allowing mobile devices to be used in school is just succumbing to pressure from the students themselves. Since mobile devices are primarily used for socializing and entertainment, I think trying to integrate them into educational lessons would only be opening a Pandora's Box.
