Identify Leadership Styles Executive A’s style of leadership is more of a level 5 leader’s style. Level 5 leaders blend a combination of humility a well as a stoic will to make good on their ambition. In the situation given for the scenario it seems apparent that executive A is described as fiercely ambitions, highly driven and solely focused on the success of the company and portraying a high level of humility towards their success, quick to credit the success to others around them. Level 5 leaders are routinely descried as showing great humility; this is very apparent with Executive A. The leaders shies away from attention and gives credit to the success towards leaders in the organization. Executive A is also quick to accept responsibility for mistakes and poor results. Executive A also believes the company will go on without them, and is developing leaders within to promote succession plans. Leader B appears to be more closely aligned with the traits of a transactional leader. Transactional leaders guide or motivate their followers in the direction of the established goals by clarifying roles and task assignments (Robbins & Judge 2007). Leader B exhibits these traits strongly describing the established goals and task, and delegating ultimate responsibility of the task to the subordinates. Leader B also focuses on the role of the supervision, organization and group performance and promotes compliance through both rewards and punishment. Leader C, as described in the scenario, is exhibiting the traits of a transformation leader. Transformational leaders tend to inspire others to transcend above their own self-interest and for the good of the organization, allowing them to have a profound and inspirational effect on subordinates.
