This type of metal is referred to as death metal because of the band from the 80s, “Death”, who were a pioneer of the genre. Death metal is considered extreme when compared to other genres of metal. While it’s hard to classify all the different types of death metal, I enjoy listening to all of them. First there is the simplest kind, Brutal Death metal. Brutal death is pretty much only about being as heavy as possible.
Punk Rock Punk rock is a genre of rock music starting out in mid 1970’s, mainly around USA, UK and Australia. Punk is known for its fast guitar chords and drumming and angry rebellious lyrics. Their influences started out in the 60’s with harder rock bands like MC5, The Who, and The Kinks. These early rock bands played heavier rock and roll music as seen in song like ‘You Really Got Me’, ‘I Can’t Explain’ and ‘My Generation’. These songs had heavy guitar chords and, ‘My Generation’ in particular, its lyrical subject being about the youth of their day and rebellion.

When compared to the other rap hits of the time, Run DMC's sound was very unique in the sound of the beats and the skillful, push it to the limit vocals. By the mid 80's, Simmons had founded the hip hop record label Def Jam, and Run DMC became the most powerful group in hip hop. Run DMC then started to experiment mixing their sound with samples of heavy metal guitars, basically combining the sound of each genre to create a gritty, street savvy sound. Run DMC's success showed the rest of the hip hop world that success could be achieved by delivering constant new material that challenged the status-quo with unique sounds and challenging lyrics. Their 1986 album Raising Hell was preceded by the top ten hit “My Adidas”, and then the release of a cover of Aerosmith's “Walk This Way”, off the same album, became the groups biggest commercial hit.
The original pop-punk bands would be The Ramones or The Lonely Ones but these bands were more punk but they started the change within the genre. The pop-punk genre over the next 20+ years continued to change and as result was looked down on by many criticizing it by referring to it as “mall-punk”, “popcore”, despite this it wasn’t until the start of the nineties that pop-punk was considered a real subgenre and it was at this time the real icons of this genre began to emerge. Bands such as, Papa Roach, Jimmy Eat World, AAR, Blink-182, Green Day, SR-71, Sum 41, The Offspring, Reel Big Fish, Goldfinger, and my personal favourite Less Than Jake and many, many more. The last three bands though belong to a popular sub genre of pop-punk; ska- punk. However, despite these bands belonging to a previous generation of music their popularity is still as high as ever.

What Chuck was successful at doing, was to turn those stereotypes around and proclaim that his brand of music (he was named the Godfather of Death metal for a reason) dealt with issues of life, and though he did write gore lyrics, they were merely tongue in cheek, B level horror movie lyrics. How was he able to do this while escaping any criticism from critics? How was he able to be so successful with only a guitar and a couple of other band members? We must dig deep into his life to find out what kind of person Chuck really was, and how his success was firmly established into becoming the most influential guitar player and founder of the most successful death metal band of all
Thrash Metal Thrash metal has come a long since way since the 1970s and 1980s when it first began, with different songs such as Led Zeppelin's "Communication Breakdown" and Black Sabbath's "Children of the Grave", and Queen's "Ogre Battle" and "Stone Cold Crazy" paved the way for new artists in the thrash metal category to step in and become a new popular genre and a number of bands began incorporating the sound of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. The beginning of heavy metal was a not so easy one, with a lot of criticism of their lyrics and their acts on stage, leading to a number of protests. But as it became more mainstream, more people would start listening to it. Then it divided into sub categories, because different bands wanted to separate themselves from the same image as every other band, and be unique, with a different sound of everything to the sound of the lead singer’s voice to the guitar riffs, which became as we know it now, with sub categories like speed metal, groove metal, death metal and thrash metal, and thrash metal has became well known among metal fans these past 2 decades. Thrash metal, or more simply known as just “thrash” is known to have 4 main acts that represent thrash metal; Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica, and Slayer.

I listen to the music because
