If the information to share is in a document this is shared by the organisations protected emailing system so staff can access this when convenient and can reflect back on this. Training to further knowledge and practice that is relevant to my supporting role is identified during regular supervision and annual IPA’s, this enables me and my manager to identity training that is not only available but is beneficial for me as a worker and for the organisation. Training that becomes available throughout the year is shared in team meetings for staff to express their interest and apply.

A Quality Assurance team should be developed to monitor the department. This team will meet daily and have in-depth meetings on improvement. The discussions should reflect “What’s working”. In fact that should be the name of the team. The tellers should feel empowered and be acknowledged for accomplishments.
In order to try and create an ethos where team members feel like they are valued and are rewarded for their contributions – Individual completion of training certificates should be issued. Reflecting over the past weeks and assessing the impact of this course, I am now more aware that Counselling can help in a number of different ways. I have realised that at all time’s counsellors must show a commitment, and the client must feel reassured that their situation is probably not as despairing as they first thought. I have gained a great deal of knowledge on how to assist, understand and clarify with people on their views, also how to use the skills of counselling, for example paraphrasing, reflecting and summaries. Attending the counselling course has made a positive impact on my personal and professional life, in the way that I think, act and see situation, also the course has changed my perception of myself by making me more aware that it`s alright to say no when asked to do something I don`t what to do, I wouldn`t have classed myself as a people pleaser but working through this course I have become aware that from time to time I can be. The course has taught me to self-reflect, this has enable me to identify and develop personal awareness, Also the course has allowed me to be more aware on how to remain emotionally detached from the relationship that I will be developing with a client.
What is reflective practice? Reflective practice is self re-evaluation of your practice with the customer. Making sure that all issues is reported to management and daily records are kept up to date, on and after every visit. It’s a process that makes you stop and think about your own practice and your actions. Refocusing on your thinking and knowledge to generate new ideas.
This is done eve ry 6 – 12 months to allow continuous improvement. Observations Team leaders, managers and supervisors will all observe your work performance. They may point out areas of improvement to you. You should take this feedback on board positively. Ways to impr ove performance : • Applying existing knowledge to a new situation • Systematically working out new ways to improve things • Learning something new so that performance can be improved.
