Hardin says that the population growth is a major problem of utilitarianism that has not been answered by anybody. Pollution rates would go up, and we would be “locked in a system of fouling our own nest” according to Hardin. If everything was shared by everybody Hardin says that it is inevitable that everything would be trashed because that is what people do best. It is not just because people like to litter but more because things would be overused he says. He says the population will always grow but our resources are limited.
Nowadays more and more people try their luck in going abroad, because of economic reasons especially. The lives they have in their homeland are not satisfying enough for them, so they try to change it by starting a totally new life somewhere else. Firstly, inequality in salaries is one of the main reasons why people decide to go abroad. For example, Poles claim that people from Western Europe doing the same job as they do, get much more money for their work. That is why, many of them are tempted by higher wages in the West.
William Penn wrote an appeal for immigrants to come to Pennsylvania. There were more open jobs for people there, and better wages. Not many people wanted to go work here, as they’d have to do hard laboring work, but would’ve got paid good. Men should’ve gone to work here, as it involved hard labor and wouldn’t have been suitable work for women. The excerpt from Clarence Ver Steeg’s The Formative Years tells why people were exported to America.
In doing so, we ruin preservation and forests to build houses and strip malls we don’t really need. Also, since we have so many people to contend with we have the problem of over consumption. Companies have to build more and more stores because they have to fill the void of the lack of products. Since these companies have to build more stores, which mean more products, this causes problems for the indigenous countries. We use all of their resources and leave them to fend for themselves.
They also come in pursue of giving a better educational opportunities to their young children. Also immigrants are more likely to create jobs and pay taxes when they live in the United States which helps the economy grow stronger. Although there are many negative conceptions about immigrants these individuals should have the opportunity to migrate to the United States for a better life. Many of the immigrants that migrate were left with no other option but to enter illegally through the border because in there countries they suffered from poverty, crime, the lack of education and opportunities. In the article “Rethinking El Salvador’s transnational families” by Leisy J. Abrego writes about a young boy named Daniel and his struggles living in El Salvador while his father is in the United States looking for work.
The empathy I feel is numb. As sad as it may seem, it affected the lives of millions because of the hate inside of one certain group of people. We learn about these kinds of events because we as Americans do not want this to happen in our nation. Through the many years, we have grown and made our nation stronger. We won’t let discrimination alter our lives in such an unforgivable way.
Peaceful Resistance: It Can Change Our Nation The society has been complacent about the violence that’s engulfing the cities and towns, but it can no longer be said that “most people in this country don’t have to think about their personal safety every day” (Canada viii). Violence claims the nation hour by hour, day by day and year after year. America is in a crisis, and people everywhere must act. Middle and upper-class communities are no longer exempt from violence. Geoffrey Canada’s Fist Stick Knife Gun: A Personal History of Violence brings the reality of violence living in many of American’s poorest communities and how the violence has grown beyond the poor and minority.
“International interactions always have negative effects on indigenous and minority cultures.” In general I agree with this statement; however in some cases there can be positive effects with international interactions with the minority and indigenous people. In this essay I will be debating on how international interactions effect indigenous and minority cultures and also how it may help or provide a positive effect on these cultures. Indigenous cultures have often suffered at the expense of globalisation and internationalisation. For an example when the Europeans arrived in Canada they began to make agreements and treaties with the indigenous people. The Indigenous people were often forced to give up their lands and take the agreement.
Foreign product taxes, or tariffs, were initially imposed to help in the growth of our country by keeping infant industries alive, as well as to bring in revenue for the United States federal government in its early days. But, as time has gone on, people have started to question whether these protective measures are actually helping or hurting us. And after much research, I can definitely assure you that tariffs are detrimental to our country’s well-being. By having these taxes on foreign products, people are naturally going to turn away and opt for something cheaper. So when these domestic companies are getting a steady flow of customers and income, they no longer have any need or incentive for improving the quality of their products.
Procrastinating homework is never a good idea. Even though you may not want to do it, it is always a better idea to get the homework done and over with. After putting of my Frankenstein paper for quite sometime, I have learned many lessons. I have learned to get my homework done in a timely manner, plan ahead, and be more thorough with my work. After procrastinating a lot of my homework this year, I have learned now, for second semester that I need to step it up a little bit.
