Vershorn Denice Lacy Professional Development Plan Organizational Leadership/LDR 531 November 11, 2013 Professional Development Plan The purpose of this essay is to create a development plan that will address the characteristics of Learning Team C designating one team member as the manager. If effective, the plan will be used to assess the needs of learning team C and aid as a measurement tool for team members to assess their strengths, skills, and weaknesses. The two team members with the interactive behavior style both scored the sub-style of the impresser. Impressers are “less open and less direct than most interactive styles”. “The impressers are motivated by winning with flare and they see winning as an all or nothing proposition” (Dr. Tony Alessandra, 2013). The two dominance team members both scored the sub-style producer. The producers are “less guarded and less direct than most other dominance styles”. Producers are motivated by “accomplishing bigger and better goals according to an internal timetable” pushing themselves to new levels and new directions (Dr. Tony Alessandra, 2013). The team member with the cautious style behavior measured as the sub-style of the assessor. The assessor “is less guarded and less indirect than most other cautious styles”. Learning team C as a whole can be a worrisome, impatient, and inattentive team. Dominance styles are impatient, they like to take charge which can be seen as aggression by other styles. When they are under stressed dominance styles stops listening and begins barking orders. If the dominance style would focus on releasing the need to control everything, this would make room for a more productive environment. Interactive's have very short attention spans because a variety of things interest them. Their short attention span results in them becoming easily bored. When stressed they become emotional displaying impulsive behavior which results in unproductiveness. The interactive styles will benefit from learning how to control their emotions and learn to listen rather than over talk the
