The hospitality sector is growing with a very fast pace. There are several sectors in the hospitality industry such as hotel industry, travel and tourism and catering and aviation. From among these sectors, hotel industry is selected for analyzing the issue of manpower. In the hotel industry sector, shortage of the skilled labor force is the most critical challenge. There is a great demand for the skilled managers and chefs in the hotel industry. In the hotel industry employees are not much trained and educated to handle the business operations to an effective level (Barrows and Powers 2008).
