Depending on what is permitted in their scope of practice by the state board of nursing. This will have some dependencies on where the licensed practical nurse is specifically working. In long-term care facilities primary duties would generally be a floor nurse, and any aspects that go along with it.

HCS 320 Week 3 Healthcare Communication Methods Health Care Communication Methods HCS/320 Health Care Communication Methods There are various types of communication methods that can be used in the health care organizations. There are face-to-face conversations, telephone calls, letters, e-mails, charts and graphs, bulletins and power points used to communicate in the health care organizations. However, in this scenario the different types of communication methods that can be used and be very effective is face-to-face conversations, telephone calls, and letters. This scenario is dealing with a nursing home and the organization is being purchased by a national group. There are going to be new policies put into effect and because of this some of the residents will be forced to move to a different place or displaced.
For example, the standard of work was change in the triage process, but before management implemented the change, it had to be approved by the chief nurse executive, and he or she will decide based on the Nurse Practice Act. Restructuring of nurse leadership is currently in progress to allow nurses to have more input on leadership and its decision making pattern in organizations. The chief nurse executive reports to the regional vice-president of nursing, whereas all directors of each nursing department reports to the chief nurse executive. The organizational structure has its strength and weakness. One weakness that exists in this structure is the lack of communication between

This assessment will take place, either during telephoned consultations with other professionals or during a formal planning meeting. c) How has this issue affected your work practice? Some carer’s are poorly trained and this can causes stress for the service user as they are not being respected or having their needs met. Changes of staff make it difficult also as there is no continuity of care and this can be frustrating. Service users want more of a say in the care plan and don't find it flexible enough. All of these things can cause difficulties when the carer arrives. Personal assistants offer a more personal and flexible approach.
The carer could then help them form together and sort the main question of ‘has the abuse actually happened’ out by using Bruce Tuckman’s theory of group communication. This is when he introduced the idea of Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing in 1965. Forming is when the group forms together at first they are mainly quiet or very talkative depending on their personality. They usually either get on well or they don’t depending on the way they situation is. In Mrs Jones situation she would not be willing to start a conversation with the other carer straight away, which will quickly change if the meeting is holding wrong information.
In some cases it might be necessary for me to contact a member of the service user’s family depending on the issue that had arisen. As a carer I may need to ring the office on behalf of the service user as they may want a time being changed or if they are not happy with any part of the care that they are receiving. Effective communication affects all aspects of my work. The reason for this is if I am not informed of any changes that need to be put in place then this would lead to me not being able to do my job to the fullest standard that it should be. It could also put the service user at risk if these changes are not adhered to especially if it involves any change of medication or any change to the care package itself.
