I believe that God did create the universe.” (Letters to Creationist, 2010). Billy stands up for what he believes in when others ask him about the nature of God and he does not think that the bible is a scientific story. In our world today, a lot of people try to connect the Bible with science, trying to prove evolution and take away significance of creationism. The only science I care to know about it when it comes to how humans are created is how and what God used to create us. God invented science, science did not invent humans.
Christians believe that we are living and moving because of God, if it was not for him we would not be here. An example given by Fr. Abraam D. Sleman is, “Adam is also called ‘the Son of God’ (Luke 3:38). ‘Adam’s father was God’ (Luke 3:38 TLB), as it is paraphrased in The Living Bible. Also, ‘the angels are sons of God’, (Job 1:6 NIV, TLB), in a sense that they are His creation.” (Sleman 12).
They also believe that genetic modification is almost like playing Gods role, which is seen as disrespectful to God. They also believe that there are some faults with the world and people because the world can’t be perfect as only heaven is perfect, so trying to play God role. They also believe that embryo research is just like abortion and because they don’t believe in abortion they will not allow genetic research! Some Muslims also believe that scientists that try to make life from the stem-cells is playing God which is something that is serious and can’t be forgiven for a Muslim to do it
Because the Prime Mover existed he set of a chain of reactions which caused the world into existence. The Prime mover caused the movement of the cause and effect chain however the Prime Mover itself did not move as it was not subject to cause and effect. Therefore the Prime Mover cannot be described as a craftsman. Another attribute of the Judeo Christian concept of god is that god is all loving and also that he interacts with his creation. This is seen in the Bible when miracles occur and also when god punishes the world.
God created the heavens and the earth as stated in the first chapter, first verse of the book of Genesis, found in the Old Testament. Genesis 1:27 also states that we as human beings, were created in God’s own likeness by him. We as Christian people are fully devoted the to the origin explanation found in Genesis and a few other books of the bible. Identity is a tough subject for many people as we have been given this earthly body as one identity, and our soul could be considered another identity. Christians, in order to move on to Heaven, need to make the two as one while keeping in the image of God.
(Heb. 6:1 faith is the substance of things hope for and the evidence of things not seen. I would answer the Axiological question by saying, “God is the creator of the for universe.” Not only does he creates everything, he is everything. So that means because God is of value, we are of value too.We have to always keep God center. (Exodus 20:3 You shall have no other Gods me.)
Therefore, man is obligated to repent and put his faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation and bear good fruit or face the righteous judgement of God. In Romans 1:20, Paul reveals that the natural world testifies to a supernatural cause. According to the scientific evidence, nature itself had a beginning. As Dr. Frank Turek points out, the supernatural cause that created nature must be spaceless (Because it created space), timeless (Because it created time), immaterial (Because it created matter), powerful (Because it created out of nothing), intelligent (Because the creation event and the universe was precisely designed), and personal (Because it made a choice to convert a state of nothing into something; impersonal forces don’t make choices). This evidence is consistent with Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Paul eluded to this when he said that God’s invisible qualities, eternal power, and divine nature is clearly seen, being understood by what has been made, so that men are without excuse (Rom.1:20).
However, creationism says that the world and living things was created by God. Creationism refuses the idea of evolution and it causes some arguments about whether evolution should be taught in schools or not. Evolution should be taught in schools so that students can gain different points of view about human nature. Creationists believe that creationism explains the existence of God. They do not believe that species change into totally different and separate animals through evolution, as sacred books mention about existence of God and they contains strict rules.
Creationists however, are working on a biblical timeframe that show that the earth is only hundreds of thousands of years old (Hindson & Caner, 2008). No comparisons can be made between the purpose of identity in Christianity and secular humanism. Secular humanism states that man is no different from plants or animals because we all evolved from the same bacteria. The bible however, makes it clear that man, unlike animals, is made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26). God stated that man would multiply, subdue the earth, and have dominion over animals (Genesis 1:28).
Paul Tillich argues against the literal theologians and the social scientists as well. He says that “religion has rediscovered its true place in man’s spiritual life, namely, in its depth, out of which it gives substance, ultimate meaning, judgment and creative courage to all functions of the human spirit.” (Tillich 9) In my opinion and it may be clouded by my religion, which is Christianity, is that God does exist and one will not
