WORLDVIEW ASSIGNMENT I. Part One: What is a worldview? Define what the term “worldview” means. Use descriptive phrases to support your definition. (25-50 words) Worldview is a term that can be defined simply as the overall perspective a person sees and thus chooses to interpret the world. Religion can add a spin on this definition as a person’s worldview can be influenced by their religious beliefs regarding life and the universe. Worldviews can be vastly different to each and every person in the world and are a direct result of religion, culture and event current events. II. Part Two: Articulate the biblical/Christian Worldview (what is believed) for each of the following 5 questions. Give 2 relevant scripture references for each of the five questions below (do not write out the verses) to support why it is believed. (300 words) 1. The Question of Origin - 2. The Question of Destiny – The Question of origin is best explained in the book of Genesis as God created the world and every living and non-living thing that cohabitate upon it. God created the heavens and the earth as stated in the first chapter, first verse of the book of Genesis, found in the Old Testament. Genesis 1:27 also states that we as human beings, were created in God’s own likeness by him. We as Christian people are fully devoted the to the origin explanation found in Genesis and a few other books of the bible. Identity is a tough subject for many people as we have been given this earthly body as one identity, and our soul could be considered another identity. Christians, in order to move on to Heaven, need to make the two as one while keeping in the image of God.
