I Search: How Can Cheating Affect Your Future? Jane Watts Mrs. Rivero 17 December 2010 I. What I Already Know If a person cheats frequently they can damage their future by prohibiting themselves from getting the future job, or education they have always wanted. They are hurting themselves when they cheat. It turns them into a liar and soon they will lose their honestly, which will cause people to find it harder to believe them when they try to tell the truth. If a person thinks they can cheat their way through college, get their degree, and then after graduation get into a thriving career, they are in for an abrupt awakening. To start off, gradually over time in order to get employed for a job a person would have to complete a detailed test. Even if that person found a way to cheat through the test (which is extremely doubtful), it would not take long for their boss to figure out that they are clueless and show their new employee the door. Also, if they cheat on a test by asking a friend and the friend gets caught, the friend will get in trouble for their actions and they might have ruined their friend’s future. Also, when a person decides to cheat and is able to get away with it, they believe cheating is the only way to do well. It is a quick way to get work done in school, which causes it to become an awful habit. That person will probably stop studying, and do whatever they want on their free time, because they know they will get by on cheating. If that person chooses to lie about their abilities, they may be held accountable for fraud and/or theft. This can have a dreadful outcome that causes them going to jail, and/or being sued. Cheaters are living a lie, and this lie can affect their peers in a negative way. Cheating is an egotistical action, and it can upset others
