In pairs read each outcome and identify ways you can demonstrate how you meet the outcomes during your observation. Observation | Outcome | Reflect on supporting a student to get ready in the morning or for going out in the evening focusing on how you support with personal appearance and encourage active participation (outcome 4.3) e.g. how do you support with: Good communication and trust with your students is vital for them to make clear and confident decisions. With items like Perfume/aftershave, Deodorant/spray, Hair drying/hair styling, Jewelry and Shaving/nail care, you must always give them as much choice as possible and every chance to get themselves ready for getting up in the morning or going out in the evening. I have always given them all the choices they have, depending on the item and in what order they like, and encourage them to either spray or towel themselves and to put on the required jewelry they chose. In doing so, I ask if they do it themselves and wait until they say do or ask you to do it.
