She begins to act differently around him, although she will never lose her fiery attitude towards anyone ‘Hey slut! I’m going to fix you once and for all’. After hearing Julie tell Lewis she has feelings for him. She begins to mother him, make him eat all the time, comforting him. She believes she has truly found love in this asylum and to her it feels pretty good.
On their first meeting, “Kamala smiled and played with her fan… and thereupon Kamala laughed aloud” (Hesse 44). Her smiles and laughter represent her knowledge of love and sex that she passes on to Siddhartha. In this case, they do not represent enlightenment, but destiny because she was meant to be his lover and teacher and guide through Samsara. Yet, as Siddhartha falls deeper into Samsara, he becomes unhappy and finally leaves. He only finds himself happy again after he attempts suicide.
However gradually throughout Act 2 Preistley does present Mrs Birling's character to mirror this original description and the audience/ readers are reassured that their original impressions of Mrs Birling's character were right all along. During Act 2 Preistley presents the character Mrs Birling through her use of language and tone, her reactions towards her daughter Sheila, and her harsh veiwpoint of Eva Smith. All of these factors that Preistley has used to present Mrs Birling's character combine and reach a climax at the end of her interrogation by the Inspector in Act 2 resulting in her true character being revealed to the audience. At the begginning of Act 2 when Mrs Birling greets the Inspector with what I have described as a warm welcome she is merely maintainig a cool and superficial exterior for the Inspector so that
He realises this and sees how he can relate to the patients and accepts who they are. The play go’s ahead and is a great success. Lewis learns that even though the mental patients are mad, they are people who he admires and takes a genuine interest in their views. Lewis becomes happy with who he is and learns that even though the play was a success it won’t be the difference in the patients going from being “mad” to being “normal”. Louis Nowra uses alliteration in the last line of the play “time to turn out the lights”, a nice way to end Lewis’
Movement is one of the elements used effectively within this performance, as the actors used all areas of the stage creatively to enhance the meaning of the play. Both abstract and realistic movement is used in the scenes. An example of abstract movement is seen when Romeo and Juliet first meet; in this scene they circled each other as they talked., Tthis in a way is abstract movement as it is not necessarily something people do in real life, but Zen Zen Zo used the circling to represent confronting an enemy and falling in love . Another example of movement is seen at the start of the performance, where the actors are getting ready for school. This element was used efficiently .to identify their actions.
You don’t have to be afraid. I’ve known lots of people that have done it.” “So have I,” said the girl. “And afterward they were all so happy” (Hemingway, 2011, para. 50). Jig seems to make herself believe what he is saying because she does not want to disappoint the American by telling him how she really feels about the procedure.
I enjoyed the casting choices because the actors and scenery joined to convey a part of the movies theme. It discussed issues that were amenable. As stated in our text by Edward G. Robinson, “an audience identifies with the actors of flesh and blood and heartbeat, as no reader or beholder can identify with even the most artful paragraphs in books or the most inspiring paintings. There, says the watcher, but for some small difference in time or costume or inflections or gait, go I …. And so, the actor becomes a catalyst; he or she brings ignition that spark in every human being that longs for the miracle of transformation”.
Instead, the nurse acted as a messenger between Romeo and Juliet for information about the wedding (Act II, scene iv). Therefore, the nurse was the only reason that the marriage was planned in the first place. Her participation in the situation led to more negative actions in the tragedy. The nurse
Smith was always nice. She is an excellent sense of humor, or a least I think so. During a moment following one of her many court appearances with her ex husband, she came to work feeling vindicated. She felt that she “got him”. She was able to prove to the judge her case, but mainly happy because she still wants to hurt her husband.
This makes Benedick want to right Hero because he wants Beatrice to love him. When Beatrice says this, she should turn away from Benedick, cry and perhaps cast a sly look towards Benedick to alert the audience that this is the start of her manipulation. Benedick should look as if he has just found the light at the end of a tunnel and show signs of hope and desperation. A few lines later, Benedick confesses his love for Beatrice by saying “I do love nothing in the world so well as you. Is not that strange?” At the end of this line, Benedick asks if it is strange for him to love because they have always had a friendly war of words between each other and due to the fact that they squabble frequently.
