Gun Control The constitution of the United States and Bill of Rights are the most important documents relating to the United States of America. They lay all our rights and freedoms out for us and defend us against the unlawful dominion of power, greedy government, and tyrants. Such important documents are bound to draw attention when it comes to the interpretation of its contents. One of the most debated topics of our Bill of Rights is the second amendment. The right to bear arms has been a problem since their discovery and invention. Today, the debate is as heated as ever. Gun Control would only deprive law-abiding citizens of the right to own and bear arms while those who obtain firearms would continue to do so unlawfully. However, many…show more content…
According to a report done by Washington Cease Fire 39% of gun related deaths are homicides while 59% are suicides. That means of the 32,439 suicides a whopping 16,750 were the result of poor regulation on the guns in the US. And even more frightening is the fact that of the 16,137 homicides in America, 11,624 were killed by the use of firearms.
