So no, I don’t know why I’m in college. I just figured college is what comes after high school and that’s what I’m supposed to do. But what I have learned the past few weeks while being here is that even though I didn’t know why I was here initially, I hope it will impact my life for the better. My future is important to me and I only expect the best for myself. So if attending college is what I have to do in order to be stress free that’s fine.
Achieving success in college is not an easy thing to do. A handful of people succeed, but many fail and drop out. I have thought many times about dropping out, but realizing what college can do for me has helped me stay. I have sat down and thought about all the windows that would be opened for me once I have a degree. To achieve success in college, you need to schedule your time wisely, have strong self-discipline, and keep calm and try not to stress.
CJ Woods Mr. Corbett University 101 Section 03 September 8, 2013 My reasons for college are probably just like everyone else’s. I went to college because I wanted a better life for myself. I wanted to find a job that I would not be living paycheck to paycheck like my parents have to. I mean, who really wants a life like that? I know I did not want that, and that is why I wanted to go to college, even more than is the main reason why I wanted to go to college.
Most ones I would have liked were too advanced for me, so I wouldn’t have been able to read them. Throughout my childhood reading was not my strong point in school, but I learned to be a much better reader. I have become a better reader now with lots of hard work and reading still affects my everyday life. Now a days I will sometimes read for fun and books for school too. During school when I read I sometimes struggle on larger words or ones I don’t know, but I work very hard and it pays off.
Since having no college degree, I knew that good jobs would be hard to find. I decided it was time for me to make a life changing decision. I started with returning to college to earn my degree. Even though returning to college will be a life changing experience for me. Returning to school has been a dream of mines since I graduated from high school.
“ Why college education is important to me” For many people, College is a top priority in their life and for others, it may not be a Thought that ever crosses their mind. For me, after I graduated from High School I told myself I was done with school and that I didn’t need to further my education in order to get a job, so naturally the furthest thought from my mind was going to college. Now, I think about the importance of a college education and I can’t help but look back with regret for thinking the way that I did. Looking back, there were a few times I would hear about a friend going to college and would get curious about starting school, however, I always seemed to brush it off and tell myself I was too “busy” when the truth was I was intimidated. I felt like I wasn’t smart enough for college.
What is College? College is a key to success in life. Why is college education such an important these days? In order to success in life with little or no struggles financially one has to go to college to get an education that will lead them later on to an Career of their choice. A two- or four- year college degree is becoming more and more important to unlocking doors to economic and educational opportunity in America today.
Why college education is important to me. A college education is a step one chooses to take in their lifetime. Some take this step after high school, while others may wait longer. I didn’t see school as fit for me while in high school. The material was not interesting, teachers didn’t seem to care about students as they once did, and I found myself looking for answers that just weren’t there anymore.
Year off for high school graduates Why not! I believe it’s a good idea for high school graduates to take a year off before entering college. Nothing is better than stating a year with a fresh and open mind. A year they can use to consider their options, to find stability and it would benefit them because they would be more motivated. High school graduates can use a year before entering college to consider the options.
I still use the organizational skills they taught me today. My teachers also played a big part in my growing up. I hated homework in school but the teachers kept giving it. It was due at a certain time and day so this also taught me responsibility. Who would've ever thought that doing your homework and turning it in on time would teach you anything when your in school.
