How has law enforcement failed in controlling gang activity? Provide at least 3 detailed suggestions for action that law enforcement can implement to curb gang activity. Does boot camp work in controlling gang activity? Introduction Law enforcement has failed the public in regards to curbing gang activity due to youth crime is purely lower class. It must be due to poverty, unemployment, social disorganization, culture conflict, and alienation. Youths who lack wealth or social standing are the most likely to use criminal means to achieve their goals. Communities that lack economic and social opportunities produce high levels of frustration. Different communities believe that law enforcement is responsible for curbing gang activity. Law enforcement can only do so much for curbing gang activity. They are not responsible for the substance abuse that forms in both delinquent activity and the symptom of delinquency. The family level of parental guidance is not a law enforcement issue but it is a family and community issue. It is assumed that all parents love their children unconditionally. It is also assumed that love is in the creation of a warm and supportive family environment with possibly two parents in the household.
