The same kind of support should be provided that led to the discovery of the internet. Free higher education will give our society a better chance. For example “Education is the key role to the long-term health and prosperity of Canada, this will lead to an improved overall economic strength of our country” (Elizabeth Hubley) Post-secondary education should be free because not everyone has the luxury to pay for tuition, so they’re forced directly into a full-time job. Also education is a key role to be in the running for a decent job. The cost of higher education puts up a major barrier for young people, where, instead encouragement should be provided, for the development of our
European vs. American Education We are living in an era of people with growing concerns about their children’s educational future. Having a degree or at least a high school diploma is now a “must have” on a job seeker’s resume. Presently, education is important, and companies value and hire candidates who graduated from reputable universities, sometimes without having them pass through a tough brand standard hiring process. In fact, it is no wonder that today, entering prestigious schools is primordial. There have been debates, contradictions, research, and studies in order to design the best educational system in the world.
Murray and Ungar Synthesis In the many recent debates about how to approach higher education, one issue that has constantly appears is the question of students benefiting from a liberal arts based education. Some argue that a liberal arts education is helpful in teaching students the basic life skills, others claim that a more specific field of study is necessary in order to b successful in life. In Ungar’s essay “the New Liberal Arts”, he claims that with a liberal arts education, students can benefit tremendously when they receive their jobs. In Murray’s essay “Are Too Many People Going to College”, he proclaims that a liberal arts degree is not highly recommended because the more difficult careers want students to take classes that are more specific to a job. Sanford J. Ungar and Charles Murray both conduct and display their own opinion towards the facts they learned through their own strenuous research.

Our country prides itself on encouraging its citizens to better themselves through education. (P) While its priority has been high school graduation, many jobs now require college degrees, making higher education more important than ever. While I understand that every American should be expected to sacrifice during this hard time, just as we were in World War II, I feel that this particular sacrifice would put our country in an even worse state. (S) Our work force will not be prepared to handle nor understand the advancements that we have strived so hard to achieve. College is made to prepare students with the newest information possible, so that we can constantly be improving ourselves and be able continue to compete with the world’s leading nations.
College is a social environment, and a great place to make new friends and relationships and get exposed to new kinds of people. I can also make connections with professors, other students, speakers, and visiting professionals that will become valuable future contacts. Finally, it will help me learn more new knowledge. As an adult student, our knowledge may be a little bit old in today society, special like me from other country’s immigrants. It is necessary to learn more to update it.
Many studies all over the world have been carried out on this concept of self efficacy in the academic settings since the overall aim of any academic course often require that students complete their degree with a high level of confidence in a range of academic abilities and transferable skills. In the Philippines, some studies about self efficacy were conducted to assess how it contributes to students’ achievement. The analysis of these studies serves as an additional dimension for assessment of the impact of the learners’ self perception to their academic achievement. Developing linguistic competencies has become increasingly important by virtue of the process of globalization. English language nowadays, especially in the Philippines, serves as an essential force in bridging barriers in communication of today’s global challenge.
College and universities should also put emphasis on applying this skills in daily workforce. This is important as students should be able to experience the atmosphere in a real workforce and apply the skills they learn in daily life. By doing so, students would know the purpose of studying such topics and would be motivated to learn more during their life in college and universities. In effect, the canned knowledge from the college and universities could be applied directly to the workforce and prepare students for the real world itself. However, life skills and character building should also be included during college and universities.

The syllabus included subjects like Heat & Mass Transfer , Fluid Mechanics , Vibrations , Mathematics , Machine Design , Thermodynamics , to name a few. These subjects are the base for any person who wishes to become a mechanical engineer. Hence the undergraduate course has made me technically sound and introduced me to the field of mechanical engineering and its various uses. Apart from the curriculum I have also learnt engineering softwares such as CATIA, SolidWorks, ProE etc. to be future ready in the industry.
