Another reason why I want to be in Avid is because you get to go on trips that are beneficial to life and future endevors. Avid can help you with organization which I struggle with in your classes as well as home. The skills Avid teaches and the broad spectrum of resourceful information given could help me find things when I need them. I feel Avid can help me do better in my classes by using the skills taught such study habits. Avid can help you with projects from other classes and projects in avid.

I tried a few classes here and there and it was something that seemed to be a temporary thing to occupy time. I was young and didn’t realize what college was going to mean to my adulthood challenges. After finally accepting a full time job that could lead to a career for some time it became clear that college would have been a good choice for me to have been successful. I quickly began to attend college classes through my employer to make gains in my career and try to possibly secure my future.
College prepares and shapes us for our future. One of the biggest ways is through what they teach us while we are there, however a college’s campus also shapes us for or future. The best way a college’s campus does that is through diversity. There are several advantages to a diverse campus such as Longwood’s. A diverse campus adds to the college experience, prepares us for life after college, and makes us more sociable people.
Adults returning to college will have the benefit of increased self-esteem, the ability to change professions, and future opportunities for advancement in their current careers. On the other hand, we have Linda Lee’s essay “The Case Against College” explaining that college is not for everyone. Students in high school that choose not to apply themselves should not attend college. These students may not be ready for the heavy course work, the expenses, or the dedication of time needed to earn their degree. Although both authors prove strong points it is obvious that whether your choice is college or trade school, as long as you apply yourself you will be guaranteed future success.

Chapter 1 In Chapter 1 the book talks about the college experience. It goes into different details about settling into a college routine, talks about why college is important and many other new things that come with college. It explains that college isn’t all about sports and partying that as young adults we have that image of college in our head. College is another step in education, and in today’s society having a college degree is very important when trying to get a high paying job. Having a college degree makes living the American Dream a lot easier, and it helps you grow as an adult and teaches you leadership roles.
The purpose of this paper is to state the reasons a college education is important to me, and the tremendous benefit it poses. Obtaining a college education will enable me to feel a sense of fulfillment in many areas of my life, especially with regard to increasing my confidence level. I will be empowered to take on new challenges at work and perhaps apply for other opportunities within the organization. A college education will allow me to relinquish any self-limitations that may prevent me from attaining future goals. I remember earlier on in my life while working in the hospitality industry I was overlooked for a promotion because I did not have the education that was required for that position.
When I decided to go back to school, knew that college would help me refresh my brain in certain areas that I may need improvement on. I also returned to school because I want a job that will fit with me. Since I have been out of high school, I have had quite a few jobs. The jobs that were employed at, I knew that those jobs were what I did not want to have a career out of for the rest of my life. So, after all the different jobs I had back to back and me not being satisfied with either one.
With this degree I can obtain a career as an administrative executive, facility manager, or personnel recruiter. It was nice to see that there are many different areas that I could possibly go in to. I was not aware that I could pursue some of those careers with a business degree. One career that I was unaware that I could obtain, but would not really want to do, was accounting. However, it would require more training and education than my current degree.
When someone becomes an adult, move out of their parent’s home, and go out into the world on their own they may or may not decide to go to college. Whether they do or not, college is for the most part instrumental for a person to succeed in life and have a career, attending college and successfully graduating can be a triumphant milestone. Being a college graduate can affect your life in several different ways. Whether they are in college for a better job offering financial stability, a different career in something they love doing or just to prove to oneself that they can achieve greater. College will help a person get where they want to be.
