CHCCN302A – Provide care for children Assignment 1: Off the job Task 1 I would do the following to support and settle Max: 1. I would adopt the following strategies to build and strengthen a supportive relationship with Max: * Try to establish a trusting and responsive relationship with Max that forms a base for extending and developing further interactions. * Provide opportunities for a relaxed and unhurried separation between Max and his parents * Provide space for Max and his parents to relax and be comfortable together before his parent’s departure * Try to develop links between Max’s home and the childcare centre * Encourage Max to remember daily happenings at the centre and pass them onto family * Take time to
Core Unit 1 – Understanding and promoting the development of pre-school children E2 – Identify factors which may have influenced the validity and reliability of the observations. When choosing a child to observe, I chose one that I was not familiar with and who was not one of my key children. This ensured that I could observe the child with an open mind, as I did not know the child’s developmental stages. When doing my observations I ensured that they were honest and accurate, and didn’t allow my own opinion alter the outcome of the observation. The parents of the child provided written consent for me to carry out my observations.
I would like to have a physical connection with my baby, and also be there hand and foot when he/she needs me. Based on the baby box, what modifications might you propose for other baby apparatuses—high chairs, playpens, etc.? I would say that since the baby box was somewhat effective, they should try these same effects on the highchair and playpens etc… Being that in the highchair the child usually feds themselves but there is help from the parent. The playpen gives the child play time with themselves and their toy, but still their not cramped in a box bored. Do you think it is ethical to raise a child in a baby box?
Identify procedures in the early years setting that support children to settle and enjoy play and learning The first few weeks when a child is settling into an early years setting is a time of crucial importance to their later happiness in the setting. All children are individuals and while some children will adjust easily, others will take longer to feel comfortable and secure. Children who have a positive start to their new environment are more likely to feel comfortable, relaxed and valued, feel good about themselves as learners and have a sense of belonging to the pre-school community. All early years settings will have a 'Settling In Policy' describing procedures for supporting children through the settling in stage. Policies should be written with the child's emotional well-being at the centre.
At settings, the key person will have warm and affectionate bond with babies and children but they do not replace the parents and if the key person has a long term illness so two people will care for a child in the setting. The Early Years Foundation stage states that all settings must put the key person approach into practice. The key person system is someone who has a child assigned to them and has more contact than other staff members and has a relationship with the child and parents and also cater to the child’s needs by changing their nappies and answers to their needs and emotions. (3.2) Explain how babies and children learn and develop best from a basis of loving, secure relationships with carers and with key person in work settings The significance of warming and secure relationships – babies and children start to understand and make sense of the world around them by using their cry so that the parent or carer can quickly respond to their needs and also have a loving and secure relationship with the baby. These relationships are vital as in setting and home and babies that do not have a loving and
The sleek design make it easy to handle, and the options of parental controls make it ideal for educational and recreational use. The option to customize specific unwanted websites and age appropriate apps makes it not only very desirable but leaves the competitors something to be desired. Apple has made their product so user friendly that children have and use their product on a daily basis (Smith, 2012). In addition, apple has a variety of educational apps that many schools have now adopted for their curriculum. Not only is this beneficial to the public, private, and charter school system, but for the homeschooling children as well as children with learning disabilities.
Children do not need expensive toys. Toys should be appealing to engage the child over a period of time. Information and resources are provided in this report so pediatricians can give parents advice about selecting toys. Children learn from the time they are born, and parents/guardians are primarily responsible for providing quality experiences from which their children learn. Parents often ask their pediatrician for advice about appropriate toys, books, and computer or video games, because they know that these tools may be important in their child’s development.
Reflection Karla Sambora North Central University Dr. Shatavia Thomas MFT 5101 My ultimate career goal is to work as a marriage and family therapist, with a focus on working with children aged three to 18, along with their parents. To me, helping children to grow up in a healthy and nurturing environment has often been a key concern for me. Since their future development as adults is affected by what happens to them in their early years, children need to receive timely intervention in order to prevent them from succumbing to the negative influences in their lives. As a marriage and family therapist, I would play an important role in contributing to the positive development of young children in crisis and transforming their lives. Usually I am a person who completes tasks in a timely fashion.
Watson wrote a parenting book because he believed that if you raised your children right, then they would not have any psychological issues later in their lives. The behavioral approach has a lot to do with parents and the way they raise their children. In the movie The Breakfast Club, the students talk about their
