The world contains many cultures, and within the world there are many ethnicities. culture can be defined as the behaviors and beliefs characteristic of a particular social or ethnic group and the attitudes, feelings, values, and behaviors that characterize and inform society as a whole or any social group within it, whereas ethnicity can be defined as the classification of mankind into groups, on the basis of racial characteristics. Culture is often mistaken for ethnicity and vice versa. The main difference between the two is Your born with your ethnicity but you inherit a culture. There are many cultures in the world, I just so happen to be a part of the Hispanic culture, being that I am Puerto Rican. In the Hispanic culture I would say the three main aspects is the traditional food that is shared, The Music and Arts, and the sense of community. The food of a Hispanic is kept within a family with traditional dishes such as alcapurrias, pasteles, pastelon. The significance of hispanic dishes is that many of the food is farm grown by hand from their own people/family. Most Puerto Ricans still own farms in Puerto Rico which they tend to. On this farm many vegetables are grown as well as grazing animals. The fact that you own a farm and can grown your own food gives a sense of self sufficiency that is important to the people. The Music and Arts play a huge role in any culture. Hispanic music is wide range from every ethnic background of hispanics. For ex; Bachata is most closely relates with Dominicans, Salsa with cubans, and Bomba with Puerto Ricans. Music and Dance is passed down from generation to generation many of the boys and girls are taught from young how to dance the basics of salsa and merengue. Dance is a huge part of the Hispanic culture it can mean something as deep as a story behind the conga beats or something as simple as the
