Elegance is grace, good taste, and refinement. Just as every bride wants to look and feel elegant on her wedding day, guests appreciate the little things that add to the charm of their experience. Anyone with any wedding style can add elegance to their special day. Just remember that a wedding is not just one day, but a series of events that culminates in a union of two lives and is celebrated by a host of family and friends. Essentially, a wedding happens in phases. Here are a few simple suggestions to elegantly enhance each phase your wedding day. Phase 1 Pre Wedding: Meetings, showers, cake tasting, dress fittings and bachelorette parties. You have all of this to do and more before your big day. Unless you have snuck away to the Little Chapel of Love, there is no excuse for having recorded music at your ceremony. Also, a live musician engages guests during the prelude or the time before the actual ceremony has started. Phase 3 The Reception: One way to add elegance to your reception is to include a cocktail hour, and by all means, do not skimp on the cocktail hour. While you and the groom and the wedding party take pictures and wind down, your guests are probably en route to the reception site even if the ceremony and reception site are one in the same. The cocktail hour (which does not necessarily have to be 60 minutes)
