Diana Davis-Nesmith The source of my motivation to be educated is my brother. He is the source of my motivation because; he was sentenced to serve fourteen years in a state penitentiary for false accusations. With all that time being taken from him he didn’t let that stop him. While incarcerated he attended Nyack College where he earned his bachelor’s degree. Once released from prison he went on to Stony Brook University, one of the top SUNY colleges, where he attained his Masters Degree in Social work. I believe that if he was able to keep a positive attitude in his time of struggle; then I don’t see why I can’t keep a positive attitude even through the most lugubrious days throughout my life. I demonstrate my commitment to my education
