Autism being its own Culture Have you ever been in an environment unaware with what is going on? Or not being able to understand what people are saying because the language is completely foreign, maybe being in a culture where the shared human patterns where different then yours. Cultural norms affects the way people think, eat, dress, work, communicate, and understand day-to-day situations. An individual living with autism have the possibility of being affected with the way they think, eat, dress, spend their leisure time and understanding day to day situations. Autism can function as a culture in a sense that it yields characteristic and predictable patterns of behavior in individuals with this condition. Cultures do affect the way one thinks, eats, dresses, works, communicates and so on. One with Autism is affected with many difficulties on a daily basis. I think speech and behavioral therapy can help one greatly in links to improvement. There recently been cases where individuals are growing out of autism due to specific education needs.
