Introduction Juvenile delinquency, better known as youth crime occurs when people of a younger age are involved in criminal activities instead of character forming activities like education or sports. Some of the causes of this type of crime include broken families, lack of education and drug addiction. Like every other type of crime, it has negative effects on society.
A troubled adolescent boy may show signs of behavioral changes that become unpredictable, and beyond the normal teenage issues. These unpredictable behaviors can lead to at risk behaviors, such as; violence, drugs and alcohol, harming one self, criminal acts, and skipping school. These repeated acts can lead the adolescent into a juvenile justice system putting them into a detention center. Intergroup conflicts are disagreements that occur within a group, usually emerging from objective differences in interest, controlling attitudes, and competition for desired resources. Many of times, these conflicts arise from discrimination that is directed towards others within the group.
Gender and Family Influences in Delinquency In today’s society, more and more adolescents are committing delinquent crimes. The juvenile justice system’s officials constantly are trying to establish what provokes an adolescent to become a delinquent and descend into this lifestyle. Adolescents are more likely to become juvenile delinquents if there is too little structure provided for them in their families or loss of inner feelings and pride in their particular gender. Students deserve to feel safe at school, however when they experience bullying, the effects can last long into their future. Some of these effects include: Depression, low self-esteem, health problems, poor grades and suicidal thoughts. Bullying causes both short and long term damage related to these effects. Not only are these issues the children have to deal with they also deal with physical problem obvious bruises or wounds from harassment, sleep disruptions, bed wetting, psychosomatic aches. Social Difficulty can lead to inapropreate social skills, social isolation, inaccurate social perceptions.
Also, they pick on the people that they just don’t understand. I have to say they pick on people because they are scared of not knowing why they do it or why they are the way they are. This can lead to gang like activity and violence against different groups or people. I would have to say because of them I think more people in school are in to the crime that is today. In theory, they can cause a person to want to commit a crime from the bullying done to them.
Moreover, family matters can increase violent behavior in public schools. Children can go through depression if their parents are separated or divorced, and if they have siblings, they can argue with them over the tiniest concerns. Depression causes the children to lash out at other students because the children don’t want to cause any more harm in their families. Furthermore, abusive situations are not the only cause of violent behavior in public schools, but environment impacts also pertain to the way children act. Suppose a community is large, the school
