Ibn Fadlan and Marco polo are the most famous travelers of their time. They excelled all the other travelers and even gone far beyond their imagination by tolerating and engaging in most of the custom they came across with. During their time Ibn Fadlan and Marco polo both made a remarkable collision through traveling and gave an account of each custom they met on their way. The account made by these travelers influence and made a huge impact when it comes to identifying how people leave their live, what language they speak, how they dress, how they act and what’s their source of income. This account was able to demonstrate this people identity, which enable the reader to understand how people leave their lives during these period. However, Ibn Fadlan and Marco polo traveled at different period of time. Ibn Fdlan traveled in 921C.E to Middle Volga, his journey was from Baghdad to Bukhara in Central Asia and from there he continued across the desert to the town of Bulghar. While Marco polo Viogages began in 1271 with a visit to china through his uncle and dad. They were able to experienced different cultures, which enable the reader to compare and contrast both journey. However, their experiences were somewhat similar in describing the people with their culture. So therefore Ibn Fadlen and Marco polo thought about and acted toward the people they encountered were judged based on their own culture. They both measured the people and their culture by their own standards. In other word the people were uncivilized and where Ibn Falden and Marco polo came from, people were modern and civilized. In this case the people they met through their journey seem primitive, wrong, backward, and immoral.
