Community Service Experience

Service Learning Project Community service is something that not a lot of teens would do, but it's also something they won't regret once they are finished with it. For me personally it was a enjoyable experience, that I wouldn't mind repeating. My experience happened at the second annual Latino Family Expo at the Wisconsin State Fair Grounds. The Latino Expo is a way for the latino community in milwaukee to come together and check on things that they might have questions on like Insurances, Employment, Social Services, And anything else that goes along with it. I worked at different stations through out two days that I volunteered, which helped me in a good way because I witnessed first hand how much people needed something like that and how everything tied together in one place. For myself, I felt like a community service project wouldn't be done the right way if you went out to do something that wasn't part of your community. So when I decided to do the Latino Expo I thought about how all my neighbors are mainly hispanic, and how I never see them communicate them with one another. So going into this situation i felt like i needed to have goals, a goal to have met in the two days. I wanted to see how the Latino community was outside of my family and friends, and see what questions or worries they had based on stuff that was being talked about there. When we where talking to the Police officer who was their giving information, he really caught my attention. Jesus Gloria talked about how police aid and firefighters aid would really help someone. When he was explaining to me, i realized that major people where looking for something that was similar to that, but never really looked. I loved working at different stations because it gave me a chance to help everyone and give a solution to they're problems. I ended up meeting my goal, because i saw how everyone
