Here the helper/listener assists the client/speaker explore their options and possible goals. By establishing what the client/speaker really wants and needs they are then encouraged to consider new perspectives and possibilities auctioning those that are realistic. MISMATCHING is a way of bringing a conversation to a close. Matching works just as well in group situations. You find that the person talking will look at you more than other people when you in rapport. This enables you to gain attention and have your contribution listened to.
The rhetorical triangle was used when distinguishing between the audience, the issue, and the speaker. In the triangle, the speaker usually found ways to make himself sound credible and trustworthy. The speaker also strived to show their credibility by making an impression on an audience. In order to accomplish this, the speaker must be familiar with his audience and make the appropriate appeals to that audience to get their attention. This was important because without the interest of the audience, the point you were trying to get across was nearly useless.
The five factors are openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism. These factors are used to describe human personality. It is also a basis of many psychological studies in selecting personnel and choosing a study (Neubert, 2004). Finally, the outcomes of my research, combined with the current literature in the field, will show what contributions I can bring to a team. The first trait concerns negative emotionality, or neuroticism.
But casual speech will be to a immediate audience (the person the speaker is speaking to) and does not have to have a lasting effect. Due to the different audiences, different techniques are used in each type of speech. The spontaneity of casual speech means that many techniques such as fillers and false starts would be found. This is because the speech has not been prepared and the speaker hasn’t practised what they are going to say in advance, they would have to think about what they are going to say whilst saying it, resulting in the speaker saying ‘umm’ and ‘urr’ . On the other hand in a political speech you would not find these as they have prepared the speech and learnt it ahead of the speech they are giving.
