Delivering this speech was a little difficult for me since I’m a little shy in front of a group of people. I was really nervous since this is the first time I actually deliver a speech to people I just met. I didn’t use nonverbal delivery skills such as hand gestures, panning and physical movement. I was able to give a little bit of eye contact to the audience while I was delivering my speech. But I should have given full eye contact.

The prevailing wisdom says that difficult thoughts and feelings have no place at the office: Executives, and particularly leaders, should be either stoic or cheerful; they must project confidence and damp down any negativity bubbling up inside them. But that goes against basic biology.
It analyses the entity’s competitive situation by assessing its strengths, weaknesses, environmental opportunities and threats. Strengths HIH had the support of the public and its personnel and this could be an asset to management because they would have space for maximising potential of the company. HIH also creatively use re-insurance to free up funds otherwise stuck prudential margins and allow more funds for expanding investments. Weaknesses HIH’s main weakness is its lack of corporate governance, especially the lack of process and risk management within the company. A lack of process meant that there were no limits to authority and rules were not followed.
All the steps and guidelines for everything are kept in a PowerPoint I made that is basically a step by step tutorial on what to do for each thing. 1.2 Explain the purpose of planning work, and being accountable to others for own work. Planning is essential to manage your time in a constructive way to complete the actions to be carried out. Planning helps to be organised on a day-to-day, weekly and monthly basis. While planning you have to obtain as many details about the piece of work you are doing to enable you to produce your work as efficiently as possible.
I do make appropriate use of gestures that relate to my speech and would help deepen the understanding. The speeches in which I have made do not involve touch so how I use touch seems to be an area that I don’t know much about myself. I would say though that in my communication with others I rarely use touch and if I do it’s usually ritualized touch in that I will shake the hand of someone I meet. Paralanguage during communication, especially in public speaking is another major downfall. I am often very nervous and trying to get done with the speech that this area lacks.
So we can already see that the Forming stage, took longer than it probably should have, which helped to cause much uncertainty in the team. Following the Forming stage, the Storming stage also contained much uncertainty. The Storming stage ends when there is a hierarchy of leadership established within the team. We can easily say that the MGI team never got past the Storming stage, as each person in the team had a different perception of the group’s hierarchy. Dana and Henry saw themselves as strategic contributors to the business strategy of MGI, whereas Sasha perceived them as interns and business plan writers, while Igor saw them as helping with vision and strategy.
Interview protocol All interviews have protocols. This is never written down, but they are like norms that people follow during interviews, this would apply to both the employer and the applicant. This will be simple things like: Arriving on time and wearing smart clothes, not chewing gum, being approachable and calm, shaking hands with the employer and the most important aspect, not bad mouthing or saying anything negative about your past employee. Another thing to remember is to always thank the employer for his time and interview. Confidentiality Applicants will always be told what the business will do with the information they hold about them, some businesses will simply trash it, whereas some businesses will keep your information for an addition 6 months just in case there is a similar job available for the applicant if they are unsuccessful in this one.
As stated in the case, WWT and the joint venture (JV)- Sub continental Telecommunications Solutions faced a lot of problems not in the main task of developing quality software, but in managing the operations of the JV. The main problem was the lack of management in the JV and people not having clearly defined roles. Natoli, Gupta and Kuma were the main people handling all the operations and they (especially Natoli) were trying to handle everything. There was no division of labor amongst the managerial staff- so much so that every employee had the same agreement/contract and no customized contracts were issued which specified the roles and duties of each person. During the formation of the JV, proper due diligence was also not carried out and no one on the team had actually ever worked with an Indian firm before, to lend valuable experience.
It determined that leadership should be a task leadership style, because one week does not allow any leader to concern for both people and taskihe has better focus on getting the job done with limited timefiame. Therefore, followers need a great deal of direction from their leaders. If Edwards becomes a leader for this project, others will be very jealous and resentful to him. The relationship of this project group may be relatively low friendly.J Motivation(job design): these two issues connected in this case. Jealous and
