Each bag will be searched for contraband such as weapons, alcohol, drugs, or glass containers. We will also randomly select individuals to be removed from line and searched more thoroughly.

Abstract Whether natural or man-made, crises and disasters have been experienced or witnessed for centuries. In recent years, earthquakes, hurricanes, terrorism, and school shootings, have increased. Other disasters have included bridges falling down, arson, workplace violence, and through cybercrime. This research will explore how crises and disasters are changing and what organizations can do to prepare for such incidents.
The police are there to help by phone, internet or in person. They are there to solve crimes, help the public, and maintain safety and security. The police also have to help individuals within, for example if a person is fearful for their safety, then the police would investigate the matter and reassure them, or if a person has gone missing then the police would do anything in their power to find the missing person. The police are a statutory service because it entitles them in their duties to maintain the safety of the public; they also help to form better communities. The police are required to protect and serve in any dangerous situations and as much as possible.
All of these flaws in their practices serve as input to their lessons learned and how to better plan for these types of natural disasters. There should have been a response team readily available to send Emergency Broadcast Messages. Katrina revealed how weak our system was. I would hope that these lessons learned have resulted in more research, detailed disaster and evacuation plans, clear roles and responsibilities, and communication at every level. This horrific event left scars across our nation.

They also have to perform safety checks on the area, so they and others from the other services are not harmed while being involved in the operation, then they are able to put out the fires. Depending on the incident, the Fire Service doesn’t just put out fires. In some cases, when buildings have collapsed on people in their cars, the Fire Service have used other equipment; such as ‘The Jaws of Life’, in order to cut people free from their cars. Lastly, the Fire Service also investigate the cause of the incident, whether it is to find out the cause of the fire or buildings collapsing, the Police would work alongside with them, because it is the Fire Service’s
If our borders are more secure that will help to keep terrorists from trying to cross illegally into the United States. It would also keep drugs from hitting the streets and keep illegal immigrants from coming into our country. The goal that hits close to home for me is the fifth one. As Americans we all need to be prepared for a disaster. I know that there are lots of us that are not prepared for any kind of disaster.
Law Enforcement is the eyes and ears and are the first responders on the scene of a WMD (Weapons of mass destruction) Homeland security and law enforcement must work together to protect our borders, tunnels, bridges, water, utility plants, and Nuclear Power Plants from an attack. You also can’t forget our soft targets like shopping malls, public transportation, College and our University’s from an attack. It’s up to the public to be the eyes and ears for law Enforcement and Homeland security to call in any tips or suspicious activity. There are many tasks to the appropriate combination of homeland Security protection and law enforcement. Most of the main encounters fall under the groups of surveillance and intelligence, but total redesign, rearrangement, and reform are not off the table either.
