Soccer has helped me immensely in that area of life. Leadership is not just about being in charge or having power, it is about being a role model. A leader in soccer is somebody who is always positive, encouraging and a finisher. When I play a game I lay my heart out on the field I give it everything I have even during a losing game. In my eyes a good leader should never give up on themselves or the team.

By working as a team you can gain valuable knowledge from those who are more experienced than you, but it also allows you to suggest newer and fresher ways to approach learning. Each member or person has their own skill and expertise, communicating with them helps you to learn, build up your own knowledge and know your own responsibilities.By working as a team you will also learn to trust and respect your colleagues, build relationships and build your own confidence. Problems can be shared and solutions can be discussed or suggested. You can learn new skills, take better responsibility of your own role and achieve your end goal more effectively. Teamwork sets a good example to others especially children and shows them they are surrounded by people who they can trust and respect. When adults are working effectively together and are working as part of a team, the children will see them as role models and will follow, copy and mimic what they see, To a parent this shows that the school are setting a good
This sense of belonging is enhanced and reinforced when the team spends the time to develop team norms or relationship guidelines together. * Team members are viewed as unique people with irreplaceable experiences, points of view, knowledge, and opinions to contribute. After all, the purpose for forming a team is to take advantage of the differences. Otherwise, why would any organization approach projects, products, or goals with a team? In fact, the more that a team can bring out divergent points of view, that are thoughtfully presented and supported with facts as well as opinions, the better.
In the beginning stages of forming a team, individuals who come together usually begin feeling each other out. The different personalities of new teammates and various cultures can be intimidating at first, but it is at this time that the team can come together as one and establish ground rules and norms. This gives everyone on the team the chance to participate and equally contribute; a time to be accommodating and respectful to each other
Management accepts employees that follow the rules and do their job the way that management says to. * Expert Power: Employees listen and follow managers that have knowledge and that are experts in their fields. The employees enjoy their work and are aware of the set goal. Although, there is a set goal they are given room for creativity and input. Trust is developed by clearly defining roles, expectations, and goals. This develops a familiarity between the different team members, which helps to produce a shared vision and reliance on each other and improves the team’s effectiveness (Bethea, Holland, & Reddick 2014). A highly effective team uses its shared vision and defined goals to foster a sense of group harmony. This allows for problems to be solved and goals to be achieved. With each problem solved or goal achieved, excitement grows within the team and a sense of accomplishment is felt once the process is completed (Bethea, Holland, & Reddick 2014).
Colleges and employers tend to favor people who volunteer because of the skills that can be acquired during their volunteering. Most of the time those reasons are why people decide to volunteer, although people occasionally do have other reasons for volunteering. People volunteer because volunteering is beneficial to not just the volunteer, but also the community. According to the 2000 National Survey of Giving, Volunteering and Participating more than three quarters of volunteers said that their volunteer activities helped them to improve their skills at understanding people, communicating with others, their ability to deal with challenging situations, and other valuable skills ("Giving and volunteering"). These benefits can affect, and be drastically important in, every part of a persons life.
