Bahrain was an important island because of its strategic location, also it is a beautiful country that you can live in, but anyone knows how it was before 100 years? Or how the people were living in this country in the past and now? This writing is about how was Bahrain before and after the urbanization, how far it moved from the old life to much better life. Before discovery the oil, Bahrain “was very simple” says Mohammed Al Orrayed. The houses were built by clay, and which were in the Town, was built of stone, also some houses were built of sticks and front, which called “Hunt”. Whatever the houses were in the past, it bearing big families and the relationships between the members of family were very close. After urbanization the houses have been changed to bigger and better houses which built of bricks, cement and aluminum that designing with gypsum and wrought iron, with this evolution the families could not see each other to much unless if there is event. In 1903, people were depending in their income sources on fishing, farming and selling cheap goods for who was living in poverty live. And pearling for the thin lager, they employed a cheap labor to diving under the water looking for the pearl. After the evolution people left their old jobs, because in 1932 the oil had discover also there was an aluminum and iron factory, so the people had batter opportunity. And the Urban development also helps them to work in high levels jobs in the field of economics. In 1919 Bahrain has opened the first school for formal education, because before that there were no schools at all, the people were bring their kids to mosque and there they teach the kids how to read and write only, but now the education have been Compulsory for everyone. In 90’s the colleges has been widespread in Bahrain, and Bahrain witnessed a high evolution in education. The people in the past did
